  My DS was 2 when we got it and he loved it.  His favorite part was of course the hidden pictures.  There were stories in there too however, we're at the library every week and read daily so that didn't have too much interest for him.  However, if you don't read daily to your kids I could see where they would like that part.  They usually have a game you can cut out, etc. but we never did it.  Really, my kids just love that they get mail monthly and love looking for the hidden pictures.  They can share it- my 2 & 3 year old do just fine.

  MIL bought DS a subscription.  It's good for about an hour of him looking through it.  Then it goes on the pile and he doesn't pay it any attention except when I pick it up and do the games inside with him.  I guess it gives us new stories to read every month.  But we do tons of book reading so that isn't a big deal.

  If it was up to me I wouldn't waste $ on it.  I am actually putting them away after a day and plan to bring them out in a big bunch when he's a little older.

  Hmmm thanks all! If it is a lot of stories that does seem pointless since we read constantly anyway. I was thinking maybe it was more cognitive/fun type activites, puzzles, etc that are age appropriate. Oh well.

  Liam gets it now (a gift from his great grandma) and he loves it. We spend several days reading it together after it comes in the mail and he loves getting "my mageezeen" in the mail.
