I don't know what's wrong with me, but there are so many things left undone. I haven't:
Maybe I'm in denial that this baby could be here any time. I really want to stay pregnant for the full 40 weeks- mostly for the health of the baby, but also because if I go early, I actually get less maternity leave (complicated academic schedule). I'd even be fine going to 41 weeks as long as everything is OK.
I really want this baby and love her so much already, but I think maybe I feel "emotionally unprepared" and that's leading to putting things off and being actually unprepared.
Looking at that list, maybe this should have gone under FFFC! Feeling a bit like a bad mother already!
OK, off to look up schedules for classes. I'm determined to cross ONE thing off my list today.
Re: Anyone else feel totally NOT ready?
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
Im not mentally prepared, thats for sure. Everything is done except pack the birth center bag and install the carseat.
I just want him to stay in there for as long as possible!
I am right there with you.
The crib is not set up (we are missing pieces)
Our pack n play (which we are using as a bassinet) is missing a screw on the bottom (no idea how that happened).
We don't have a pad for the changing table
I started packing the hospital bag
I haven't bought bottles, breast pads, lanolin, or about a billion other things
I have not finished writing the call list
No coming home outfit yet
We don't have our stroller or car seat (we do have a backup car seat just in case)
It felt like we had so much time and then yesterday it just hit me, "oh no he could be here any day now!"
I thought I was the only person who hadn't chosen a pediatrician yet. I don't even know how to pick one. I just moved to this state a little over a year ago, and my insurance limits me to where I can go.
I never even thought to write a will.
I didn't sign up for lamaze, or any classes that prepare you for a newborn... because I waited too long, and they are filled up until like mid-september EVERYWHERE! I mean women raised babies because childbirth classes were around right? I should be fine.
Why don't we just go by what I have done, lol... Picked a going home outfit for baby!
His nursery is not done. Hospital bag not packed. No carseat at all! Yeah I'm way behind..
Mom of 2 monkeys and 1 on the way!

Do as much as you can. You obviously have at least a little anxiety over not having done some of these things. Just check one thing off the list per day.
I didn't have several of these things done when I went into labor, and it was a lot more stress getting them done after my son's birth... and my hospital bag was packed by my husband in 5 minutes and contained nothing wearable. Do that first!
