No 3D ultrasound, frank breech, low fluid, anterior placenta

So I go in for my 3D ultrasound and sure enough every single one of my suspicions were confirmed and we got no good looks at our baby girl. She is Frank breech with her legs in front of her face, and my fluid levels are low. From what I've been told the fact that they are low decreases her chances of rotating. I will now be monitored on a weekly basis to check levels and see if it decreases more. I went in over a month ago because I thought I was leaking fluid but doctor said it was just discharge. It's continued to be an issue but I have passed it off as discharge. Funny enough I also have anterior placenta which no one told me 2 weeks ago when I went into l&d for lack of movement.

Im a lil bit concerned, a lil bit frustrated and very disappointed.

  • Was this an elective 3D u/s?

I'd be very annoyed if so.

If not, I'd be most annoyed about not knowing about the anterior placenta and all the stress I think that would cause in the movement arena.

From what I'm learning, AF leaks can be missed, but it still sucks.

  • I would be disappointed and frustrated too. I guess a small consolation is that you know your body so well that your suspicions were right, despite the doctors not confirming everything the first time.

I hope your monitoring goes smoothly and your that your baby girl will find a way to rotate in there.

  • are you on any sort of bed rest? I would be concerned with low fluid levels that you are leaking and its just SO slowly or such a small amount that it won't show up on the test.  that sounds so frustrating, sorry :( at least you knew your body well enough to know that somthing was up and now can be monitored more closely.  Not sure if you are allowed to do anything to encourage baby to turn head down, but check out www.spinningbabies.com for some positions to encourage head down babies.

  • My u/s tech told us that when you have an anterior placenta, it's usually right above the head causing low fluid in that area.  The more fluid, the better the 3D pictures turn out.  So, it explained why with both of my babies, DS and this one, I've not been able to get a good 3D picture.

DS #1 was breech and stayed breech, but there's still plenty of time for the baby to turn.

I would be feeling the same way you are right now.  I hope things are alright and get better for you!
