Mine is totally a Shades of Grey baby!! I read the 3 books over a 5 day stretch so I can't say it's particularly from 1 book but yeah, it's definitely a shades baby

No, this is one of my biggest pet peeves right now. The book was awful and so were the sex scenes.
Ugh, agreed. I had to force myself to finish book 1 only because it felt like waste of money if I didn't. No desire to read 2 or 3.
yes yes yes. horrible, awful. also, glorifying emotionally abusive extremely unhealthy relationships...just like those godawful twilight books.
tried to read the first one as a joke since my friends and i like to read bad books and make fun of them, but i couldn't get through even half of it. it's beyond trash.

Bar Italia, so few people seem to recognize that! I love all three of you.
I have read the books, and this little one was conceived a few weeks after I finished. I thought the books were entertaining, although I got tired of the grammar and lack of originality in language. The sex scenes weren't great, but when I read I do it to be entertained. So, technically, no. Personally, I didn't think they were the be-all end-all in romance. I did, however enjoy the read.

I haven't read the books, don't intend to, and don't like that it might be assumed that this LO is a SoG baby.
(That's not meant as an insult to those who say yes to this question, btw. It's just a personal annoyance.)
Definitely couldn't agree more. I'm a big reader but have no desire to read these books, nor have my baby assumed to be a Fifty Shades of Grey baby. No offense to anyone that has read them it's just not my style.
I bought this book two months ago and I'm only on page 31. I find it very boring and hard to get into. I'll keep trying. Hopefully I'll be done by the time this baby comes.
Considering what I have heard... I am waiting until I get the second trimester fun time feeling before I read the books.... I am actually saving them for that occasion.... :S

I agree. I bought it against my better judgement(didn't sound like my scene) cuz it was so popular...I was glad to be done with it and am not interested in the next ones.
I was reading book 1 when we conceived, but we were already TTC. I don't think the book made a difference in my mojo. I got so bored with the book that I didn't finish it and passed all three books I has already purchased on to other people. It just didn't hold my attention. Nothing against the books, though!
I thought the books were entertaining, albeit, written horribly. I enjoyed the love story, and that's really what kept me reading them. The story was hard to believe, and it made me want to keep reading to see what happened next.
I have infertility issues, so after TTC for quite awhile, the books were what I needed to spark my sex drive...and it worked.
I think it is hilarious that we are even posting about this! HAHA! There was a generation of Baby Boomers and now we are going to have the generation of Fifties! Mine is not a result of the trilogy, although I am reading them now - in between What to Expect When You're Expecting and What to Expect the First Year. My nightstand has quite the array of books on it.

Yep, I did read them all, but was overly annoyed the entire time because of the glamorization of control maniacs.
I read and enjoyed all three and we conceived while I was reading either book one or two. We were already TTC but the books definitely got my libido going which I'm sure DH appreciated though I don't think he knew the cause! I also love the Twilight series and have read it multiple times. I'll not publicize this as a FSoG baby/pregnancy but it happens to work out on the timeline. I'll never understand people's vehemence toward Twilight - this series is definitely polarizing though. To each her own.
::Raises Hand:: I loved loved loved the books. Im reading it again, thank goodness I'm already pregnant. I think I'll have to stay far away from DH when I read the books again! haha

And obviously my LO isnt a result of the books, its just a fun thing to talk about. My LO was created out of the love DH and I have for one another and wanting to welcome another child into our family! The book was just icing on the cake! I still love the books and always will!

Oh crud...the LAST thing I want anyone to think is that my baby is a result of a stupid book.
This baby was very much planned by two parents who don't need a book to "help" get things started.
Ooh lucky you! Mine was a total accident. DH and I hate the thought of intimacy with each other, so we need all the "help" we can get!
Ok really though, I enjoyed the love story. The sex did get really old by the end of book 1. So what if there was an annoying overuse of the word "engorged"...I still found it entertaining.

Haha! Mine wasn't but I definitely enjoyed reading them a couple weeks ago...it brought my mojo back! ;-) DH was definitely pleased!
And of course they are awful books, but hey sometimes a chick needs a trashy read once in a while! :P

Reading this review was way better than wasting my time reading the books.

Same here. My husband read the series after I did. I'm pretty sure this kid was concieved while one of us was reading it!
