So some can call me a horrible person for saying this but I honestly don't care, and I'm in an awful mood right now and this just absolutely pissed me off.
There was an accident in the back roads of my hometown last night, one car, flipped several times, went through a ditch and hit a road sign. All 4 guys were ejected, and air lifted to area hospitals (explains the several copters I saw last night, we're living in the city now). 2 are pretty bumped and burised up, a cfew broken bones etc. 1 has a broken neck and several broken ribs and not sure about the condition of the last. No seatbelts were used, but then again that may have saved there lives but hey NYS law... buckle up! Too bad they don't know how to follow at least that law.
Not much on the news but from knowing these guys personally, they are all drunks, the type of guys that "are better drivers drunk then sober" etc. They are flucking lucky none of them died. I honestly wish they had, there is no good from these 4 guys, they're sleazy, each of them has girlfriends who are under the age of 17 (they are 22+), general scum bags, drunks, the "party" crowd supplying under age drinking, pot heads, etc. etc. facebook is blowing up with "prayers, good wishes, love yous, angel's had you last night, what an unfortunate accident, yadda yadda" .. of course all this from their buddies and fellow drunken rednecks, most underage.
THEY WERE FLUCKING DRUNK OFF THEIR ASSES!!! It's beyond pissing me off. I needed to vent, because I am sure as hell not opening that can of worms on myself. (rednecks are vicious and will eat me alive, because "it was such a blessing that they're alive") the biggest I did was like some women's comment "Gotta love drunk drivers".
Sorry about the vent, I'm fuming inside and had to let it out lol all in all, if you drive drunk to intoxication, you should die. DWI's do and teach nothing, I can name 6 people just from my high school, between the ages of 17 and 25 who have had AT LEAST 1 DWI... guess what they're still drinking and driving. And they will until they die or end up in jail.
ETA:: Just found out via a friend's call, the other guy (who is actually a wonderful guy, don't know how he got wrapped up with these scum bags), not sure if he was drunk or not (we don't think so) but he was in the back seat, broken back, scapula, neck and badly bruised lungs.
update*** The driver is being charged with 2 felonys, he already had a DWI on him (again, DWI don't do sh*t to stop drunk driving) and several other charges, and there will be more that have yet to be released to the public. He's going to jail, I hope to god his money doesn't get him off easy like it did with the DWI.
Re: I need to vent (long, drunk driving) *update*
All of this!

Oh god, that's awful. I am so sorry
My mom watched her best friend die when they were 15 or 16, they were in the car with another drunk driver and my mom was in the back, her best friend in the passenger. When they crashed, her BF's head got stuck between the headrest and the top of the car and the impact snapped her neck clear in half, almost completely decapitating her, my mom was thrown from the car and landed on the side walk and the driver was thrown through the windshield. Everyone, except one, died in the other vehicle too. My mom was extremely lucky, she broke her neck. It was one of the worst accidents that have ever happened in our town... sadly my mom watched another friend die in ANOTHER drunk crash, and a couple years later ANOTHER friend died in yet ANOTHER drunk driving incident (this one while they were at a party in a field, the friend was hit and my mom barely missed)... like I said, no one ever learns....
I think cars need to have a built in breathalyzer. they get installed as court orders sometimes but I think there should be one in EVERY SINGLE vehicle, that must be blown into in order for the car to start.
Thank god you guys are okay!
It's sad though, living in such a small town, that's all there is for the high schoolers to do... get drunk and party in fields and back roads. it's really bad too when all the teachers, school employees, fire fighters, police and EMTs are saying that we're due for another bad accident. Like it's inevitable, there's at least one bad drunk accident a year, generally around graduation... this one came a bit later.
ETA: Someone almost ALWAYS dies in these yearly accidents, and it's always a young person.
I just found out who the driver was, the one with the broken neck and ribs. He made a public apology on facebook... it hasn't gotten good responses.
I agree with this whole heartedly... MD is a horrible state for being flexible with drunk drivers. I worked as a victim assistant and we were worse than CA law with it .... she had known drunks with 5 dings on their record before anything was done.
When I was 16 my best friend commited suicide. My school tried to sweep it under the rug as soon as possible because they didn't want any "repeats" of the same situation. A guy from a different school that was friends with a lot of people in my school snuck out of a party drunk and wrapped his car around a tree. They GLORIFIED the crap out of him (and this was within a few weeks of my friends death). It got me to thinking what makes him so much better? You are making the conscious decision to get behind the wheel knowing that you could kill yourself or worse- someone else! Soooo.... in my mind if that did happen that makes you no better than say, someone who does the whole murder suicide thing.
You should take screenshots! I would love to see that attempt at an apology before the ower DDs it haha
I'm sorry but I don't think it's right to accuse someone of drunk driving without knowing and especially to wish that they had died in an accident. They may be scummy but there are people that love and care for them and shouldn't go through that.
Also, there are a lot of people that get DUI/DWI's and learn from their ways. Just because you know 6 people that didn't doesn't mean that tons more people haven't. Hell, I know more than 6 people that are celebrating multiple years of sobriety because of a DUI. There are many consequences to a DUI and in many states if you have an occupation that requires a license (nurse, day care provider, teacher) you can lose your license with one DUI.

I have to agree. I have had several friends die as the result of their drunk driving, and it doesn't make their death any less tragic, or their (short) lives any less meaningful.
I have zero tolerance for people who drive drunk. It is just so incredibly irresponsible, I don't have words for it. But, I'm glad I live where I live, because they have harsh penalties for those that choose to drink and drive.
