Not sure if this is an UO.........I just read that Massachusetts banned hospitals from giving formula goodie bags that are provided by the formula company. I appreciated the heck out of my goodie bag. I was determined to breastfeed but my milk never came in, I decided that formula was a better option for my family. I think all that matters is that your LO is healthy and gaining weight. I do not understand why the government thinks they should make such personal choices for women. Reading stuff like that can make women that formula feed feel like failures. I am in no shape, form, or fashion trying to have debate over breastfeeding versus formula feeding. I am just adding my 2 cents that banning goodie bags is ridiculous.
I liked mine, too, even though I BF.
That can of formula is going to get me some good food and antibiotics after doomsday happens.
Ari was born in probably the largest hospital in Boston... I had no idea hospitals even give goody bags of formula. My hospital did ask several times if I was bfing are formula feeding, which I always replied bfing.
On my way out they gave me several phone numbers to call for breast feeding help and said that if there were problems with my milk that the bf support would help with formula as well.

My hospital banned this and Bloomberg is trying to get it banned in all NYC hospitals. I EBF but I still don't think it's right to make formula feeders feel like they are doing something wrong.

I've never had brunch. Clearly someone needs to come to Texas and show me all the things I've been missing.
WHHHHAAATTT!??!? I am not okay with this. Going out for brunch is the best weekend activity ever made.
I know. My small town sucks.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
I don't think Will Ferrell is all that funny... ::runs and hides::
Agreed!
I have this same opinion. I have watched 2 or 3 of his movies and don't think they are funny at all. He is just annoying.
I agree that he is not funny, and all of his movies are pretty much the same...however, I have only one exception. I LOVE Anchorman. I freaking love that movie.
My UO--my relationship with my husband is still my most important relationship. I love my baby unconditionally, but I will encourage him to sleep in his own bed and room (and also work on keeping bedtime fairly short) because I need that time with my DH ALONE. Even if we only stay awake for 15 minutes once the kid goes to bed--those are the best 15 minutes. My DH rocks and I want to make sure we keep our relationship working.

A large chunk of the population has no business running around in tapered skinny jeans (myself included)
I don't own any jeans that aren't skinny.
My UO on food: I hate pickles. Like a complete loathing.
My regular UO: I couldn't be bothered to watch most serious movies. As a result, I miss out on a lot of pop culture references. Sorry everyone, I didn't see Inception and I don't plan to.

I couldn't wait for H and me to get back into the same bed together every night, but I don't feel like that means my relationship w/ H is more important than my relationship with DD. They are just different kinds of relationships, and you have to nurture both. It's like the world wants us to pick one over the other, and I just don''t see it like that.
Ladies, ladies, there is a compromise in the breakfast vs. lunch battle, and it's that glorious bastion of day drinking known as BRUNCH.
I've never had brunch. Clearly someone needs to come to Texas and show me all the things I've been missing.
OMG. I am going to equate my reaction to this to your reaction to me never seeing Star Wars. Seriously, missing out on brunch for this long of your life is a tragedy!
There is this AMAZING place known for brunch in Detroit that does bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas and they have the BEST French toast stuffed with marscapone cheese. Their eggs benedict are to.die.for. OMG I want some now...

Blue cheese is disgusting. Do you still eat the bread if it's gone moldy? Noooo. So why would you eat moldy cheese. Blech!
My DH, who I've never seen refuse any kind of food, had a girly fit and almost threw up when he ate a bite of salad with blue cheese. I almost wet myself laughing.

That is really what I think, but I have a lot of people IRL that act as though there is NOTHING more important than the baby and you should do whatever is easiest/most natural for the baby before everything else. I'm sure Thad would be really happy if I rocked him for an hour every night, but then I would get no time for H. That isn't ok, so Thad gets 10 minutes of rocking.
I just remembered my uo!!! I don't like eating meat when I can tell it was alive. So I can't eat anything if the bone is still on it like ribs or chicken legs. I love meat too much to not eat it, but as long as I can't tell what body part it is, I'm okay for the most part.
3. I actually do think skinny jeans can look good on most people even if you are overweight. It's all about what shirt and shoes you wear. I rocked maternity skinny jeans my entire pregnancy.
4. I love both ketchup and ranch and could eat them on anything, including my own arm.
5. I thought cones were stupid until I realized I could eat one and push a stroller around at the same time.
I think my main issue with skinny jeans is that they are so very 80s-riffic to me and I just haaaate most of the 80s fashions...we've already suffered through that decade- must we again?!!
I love love love brunch. I will be a sad sad panda if it turns out that Owen is MSPI, because a year without hollindaise is like a year without sunshine.

I've actually heard that they weren't giving samples anymore- I thought this was an older thing. I just didn't realize other hospitals did give goody bags.
I received a ton of formula samples in the mail and just assumed they got my name from either hospital registration or BRU.

Also! Pinterest makes me crazy. I was on earlier today and there was a "tutorial" on how to "make your own bathroom mat". I clicked it and found the directions:
1. Buy a rug
2. Buy a stencil
3. Stencil a pattern on said rug with paint that you also purchase
Really?? It cost this lady like $30+ to make a sh!tty looking bath mat that I imagine would get paint crumbs all over your feet if you used it for any extended period of time. Andplusalso, this does not count as DIY in my mind. DIY, to me, saves you money and is better than buying the item outright because you made it.
AND people who think Marilyn Monroe is a role model are ridiculous. You know she slept with the president right? While he was married? And had how many other extramarital affairs? And you are dressing your daughter like her and posting the pictures on pinterest why?

I disagree. Bed sharing and maintaining a healthy relationship with my spouse are not mutually exclusive whatsoever. Bedsharing was and will continue to be a mutual decision and we maintain balance between parenting and our adult relationship.
Breakfast is gross, brunch is crowded and over priced, and the phrase "breakfast for dinner" makes me squirm,
I *hate* Paula Deen. I could totally see that she's a raving beotch once the camera turns off.
oooo I totally agree with you. The other day I was watching her show and she made this potato casserole that was mashed potatoes, topped with onions and peppers sauteed in a stick of butter, next another layer of potatoes, then a layer of cheddar cheese, then a layer of bacon! SERIOUSLY PAULA?

Incorrect. The correct answer is, Alton Brown.
Alton Brown is pretty cool. I should elaborate:
Anthony Bourdain> Rachel Ray, Paula Deen, that Semi-Homemade chick, that guy that eats massive amounts of food and looks sickly (Man vs Food I think?), Bobby Flay.
Cool food network: Ina Garden, Alton Brown, Mario Batalli

Well, you can...but people tend to look at me funny when I do that. Whereas, drinking at brunch is practically a requirement.
Me too! There is a local ice cream shop that I love, they only take cash. I will run thru the ATM and get cash for their ice cream. It's that good.
All this ice cream talk has made me want some ice cream now!

Nope! The only "exotic" (as in not your typical American or cheddar) kind of cheese I like is smoked Gouda.
