Just got back from monitoring appointment. I have two follicles, one on each side. One is 22 and the other is at 21. My nurse said lining looks good, so i did blood work and got trigger shot. IUI is scheduled for tomorrow and Friday.
I'm really struggling this month to be positive and i'm not sure why exactly. My nurse was very optomistic, saying these are the best looking follicles we've had so far and that my lining looks better than in any past cycles. But inside, i'm so afraid to actually be optomistic. I feel like it makes the fall of a BFN that much harder. With this many BFN's under my belt, i think i'm starting to expect that rather than expecting this to work and get a BFP.
How do you guys keep your emotions in check; staing positive but not being unrealistic? Is there something you tell yourself?
~Jen

Re: IUI#3 tomorrow
Hi Jen,
Good luck tomorrow
I'm the worst person in the world to answer your last question (at least right now). Tomorrow is my BETA for IVF 1. I have not POAS once b/c I am too afraid of a BFN. Not sure why I think a call from the nurse with results will make it any better, maybe I just want to drag it out as long as possible, The worst part is that when the cycle began I was totally mentally OK with it not working.
All I can say is trust in your dr and their staff. I have found that a relationship with an RE is like no other dr, as you really have to trust them. With IVF - they called ALL The shots, I was like a by-stander. If she's positive - allow yourself to be positive, THEN make yourself super duper busy during the 2WW so you don't think about it and obsess!

I dont have any words of advice for you because I have yet to find a way to stay optimistic and positive. I just wanted to say good luck and hope this is lucky number 3 for you!
Good luck! I wish there was a secret I could share on staying positive, but as you know, some days are just hard! Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel, pray (if you are a spiritual person), and more often than not the next day will be better!
Perfectly normal to build a defense mechanism with so many let downs.

I have to tell you that this was my cycle where I struggled and I wasn't positive and I didn't pay attention to phantom symptoms and I still bawled like a baby when I saw the BFN this morning. It's hard to stay optimistic but I think I prefer being optimistic to how I felt this month. I thought if I kept my emotions in check that it would help me deal with a BFN, but it didn't... it still sucked just as bad, if not worse. I'm sure we will all have our down months, but we need to try to believe that all of this can work and will!!
Hopefully 3rd time will be the charm for both of us. FX for you!!!

Good Luck!!!! I hope this is lucky #3 for you!!!
To tell you the truth the way that I try to stay positive is to not even think about it. I have been loading myself up with some many other things to think about that I hardly have time to think about where I am in my cycle. When I do think about where I am in my cycle I just tell myself that it had to work because I don't want to think about what is next if it didn't.
I think that's what i'm going to do. Make a list of things i want to accomplish in next two weeks and focus on that instead. Plus, i'll have something to show for it in two weeks! LOL
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I guess just having an off/blah day.
