Ummm...oops! US tech's first incorrect sex declaration...

Three weeks ago our US tech said "That's a girl. It's early, but that's a really clear shot. I'd plan for a girl."

I was shocked. I just *knew* I had a son in my belly.

We went today for our anatomy scan and her face went blank and I saw a TURTLE on the screen. All I could say was "TURTLE!" She checked from several angles to be sure, and Baby definitely has a penis and balls. He even played with it.

So funny! I dreamed this would happen and my Grandfather totally called it. He said "No. It's a boy. You just didn't see his balls. You'll find them when you go back."

I've seen a lot of these types of stories floating around lately... The U/S tech predicted I'm having a boy when I was 13 weeks. I wonder if mine was wrong as well!

THIS is exactly why I didn't want to find out early.... I think I would be totally confused if I had one sex in mind for awhile and then got pulled in the other direction!

BUT, I do think it is kind of an exciting story! Especially since you felt like you were carrying a boy! CONGRATS!

Oops! How funny! My 12 week ultrasound tech said I was definately having a boy and I was so excited I told everyone I knew! Then at my 16 week Dr's appt she told me there was NO WAY we could tell that early...I was devastated! My husband teased me about it and so did my in laws! WELL...at my last ultrasound it was confirmed to be a proud baby Boy! I told my in laws and my husband that I knew the whole time!

Congrats on finally knowing for sure! Great mother's instinct.

I'm terrified this is going to happen to us. Our A/S is tomorrow morning, so we'll know soon whether or not the U/S at 16w 1d was correct or not!!

Oh no! That's great you're having a boy but it worries me that at 17 weeks they were wrong. I thought you could tell then...did you see three lines at 17 weeks, or just no penis? We were told girl at 18 weeks and I hope he was right. I've already started buying bedding!!!

Congrats on the boy!!! They say mother's intuition is usually right on. I am having my a/s scan tomorrow. I hope they aren't wrong. I want to start buying things!!!

This exactly! My a/s is in the morning and now I'm even more nervous because I thought I was baking a boy and was shocked when my 16wk u/s tech said it was a girl.

Shopping spree today! I returned all the pink and got boy stuff...so fun!

I would love to see a pic from the 17 week scan. Also, my tech said that the three white lines is a misleading thing to look for, the umbilical cord could be between the legs and show three white lines. Your post made me a little nervous but in mine you can clearly see the cord is out of the way and there's the "wishbone" my tech was looking for. I have a pic in my blog if anyone wants to see, I only have 2 weeks until my A/S to confirm so let'a hope she stays a SHE!
