So is fb finally going to kill the board?

Just saw the post about the second group and I'm bummed. I can't get on fb. If you google my name, one of the first things that comes up is my teacher website. It has way too much information that I'm not comfortable putting out there to people I don't know. Is everyone going to join this second group? Might be time for me to bid the bump goodbye.

Don't leave! I've joined the second group but I still check this page just as often. A few others have used a combination of their Bump name along with LO's name (no real name used) and that is how they're known so you have that option!

Im just thinking that the number of new threads here will quickly die. Guess I'll hang out for awhile and see how it goes.

I'm not going anywhere. It's just easier to write on FB, I don't have to worry about disabling java every time I want to reply. I noticed less threads after the FB group was made also. I hope everyone still comes here just as often as they go on FB. It'd get pretty boring, otherwise.

TB is always slower on the weekend...that could be why we've noticed fewer threads (FB started Friday night). I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I have a feeling this (the weekend) is the primary reason that TB was slower than normal. I joined the 2nd FB group but I don't intend to leave this board!! There are people here I care about who will not join FB for whatever reason (cough, cough.. ILML...). They are totally entitled to their opinion and reasons and I don't want to lose track of them because of a FB group!

This is exactly why I asked about the fb group in the first place. I just wanted somewhere to post to from my phone. I love the bump though, so I hope it still stays active, too. It'd really solve everything if the bump gods would just make an app for this forum.

I think it was mainly because it was the weekend too. I know we're usually going so much on thr weekend I just don't have time to bump much. I joined the fb group but I fully intend to keep posting here too. I just joined....not ready to leave yet!

I still want to keep my Bump life and FB life separate. I know that the FB group doesn't give access to my personal stuff, and my FB peeps won't see my bump group, but I'm not ready to make that jump yet.

I won't join a FB book as I don't want my/our name out there either. My husband and our baby are 100% off FB. If the group ever gets so small that a few of us need to become email buddies I'd go for that with people I "know" and respect from here.

There are a ton more lurkers than meet the eye around here, and I think that is a lot of who is joining the group. Either way, I don't think this board will die.
