Umbilical Cord Stump - yickers!

I think I remember this happening with my daughter as well. The stump is getting a little blood on his onesie's. So I just covered it in gauze because I don't want it getting caught on anything. Eek. This thing is gross. LOL! It's just barely hanging on by the bottom ridge.

What's your child's stump doing? How long did it take to fully fall off? Are you putting alcohol on it? Or how are you caring for it?

    my daughtet was born the ninth and hers fell off yesterday but i think her shirt kind of pulled it off. we were just told to wash it 2-3 times a day witg soap and water but now that it came off, it bled just a tiny little bit so we put just a little rubbing alcohol on it today.

    Madelyn's stump was 90% off at her two week appt so the Dr helped it along.  We had been putting alcohol on it once or twice a day.  It bled a tiny bit at the office, then nothing.  Then there was a little scab, and then that fell off last night...so now we have a normal belly button:)

    I'm cleaning Emily's frequently with alcohol. Benjamin's got infected and it was so disgusting and we felt just awful!  So I'm super paranoid about it and keeping a close eye. No signs of infection for her but it's defintely gross. Can't wait til it's gone!

    my DS fell off in 4 days...I used alcohol frequently on it...don't be afraid to get the alcohol all over it the drier it gets the fast it will fall off...GL

    eww they gross me out so much - I think I called the pedi w/ each kid freaking out about them.  DD's just feel off at a little less than 2 weeks old - maybe a week and a 1/2 old.  Same as you - bleeding and hanging by a thread - she's been wearing black and pink so her clothes don't get stained :  ) 

    I used some alcohol on it too.  There are a few little scabs.  i'll have the dr look at it at her appt tomorrow and they may put that silver stuff on it if needed - don't know yet!
