Cycle is only 22 days?

Ugh, so I have always had very short cycles of 24 days.  When I charted I always O'd around CD 9 or 10.  All of a sudden my cycles are 22 days!!  I do have thyroid disease, but I have had it since I was 15.  Anyone have very short cycles?  Im wondering if I should even be concerned about it at all.

Re: Cycle is only 22 days?

  • I've had 21 day cycles my entire life. It sucks, but every doctor I've ever seen said that there's nothing wrong.

  • I have always had short cycles like that - and it hasn't affected anything that I know of. I'm on BC right now so they are 28 days but when I'm not on BC, they are 22ish, give or take a day. I charted as well and I usually ovulated on day 10/11. My dr did say that this was causing a "short luteal phase" which can lead to a miscarriage so I have to take progesterone from the second I get a BFP (I had a m/c before DS and he thinks that is why as well).

  • I had really short cycles once I finally got AF back after I weaned DS. I wasn't too concerned, but if you are, definitely see your doc to ease your mind.

  • Mine were super short after going off the pill.  I had been on it 10 years, but they weren't that way before...they were actually long then.

I got pregnant my first round, but other than that I don't know of any implications...I've also heard women with shorter cycles tend to deliver earlier, like less likely to be induced....

Guess not for me LOL  I went 41 weeks 3 days with no dilation :) and had to have a RCS. I have always had 24 day cycles.

Thanks for the info everyone :)

If you are still ovulating around CD 9-10 you still have a long enough LP that there isn't an issue. It's not unusual for it to shift what is normal for you from time to time. 2 days isn't worth worrying about.

yeah I seem to be, but I am not charting as closely as I once did.  Thats a good point though it seems long enough.
