I am. My daughter was born on July 1st at 27 weeks due to severe pre-e ( came on over night) and IUGR-which we only learned of immediately prior to delivery. She weighed 1lb 11 oz at birth and just reached 2lbs yesterday. She'll be in the NICU until some time in September (her due date was 9/30).
My son was born June 4th at 27 weeks due to a placental infection. We're still there and likely have a least a few more weeks. He's actually doing really well aside from some apnea spells every so often, but he's still a bit young to conquer bottle feeds.
My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows.

I am. My babies were born at 33 weeks and thank heavens are doing great. They've been in for 10 days and we are praying shouldn't be much longer. Thoughts and prayers to everyone. It certainly isn't easy.
I am as of last night. Our DD was born after induction at 34w after PPROM at 31 and 3 weeks of bedrest. She is doing very well so far, but we are not sure yet when she will come home.

Wow, there are quiet a few here! I am happy to hear that so many of your little ones are doing well! We have had a pretty tough journey so far but things are looking up! My twins were born at 27 weeks after a month of hospital bedrest due to AEDF/SIUGR. My daughter weighed 1lb 5oz and my son weighed 2lb 4oz. Amazingly enough there is only 100 grams separating them now! Selah is 4lb 13oz, Judah is 5lbs. Selah developed NEC at 35 weeks and had to be lifeline transported to another NICU 30 min away, after 2 weeks she was able to return to the same hospital as her brother and is now doing great. Judah has had a hard time staying off of the ventilator and has been intubated 8 times. He also had to have laser surgery on a piece of tissue obstructing his airway but is now one whole week off of the vent and is even weaned down to 1/2 liter of 02 on a regular nasal cannula!
Have any of you had any NICU struggles? Is everyone doing okay today?

My little man is currently in the NICU, he was born at 35w5d and just turned two weeks old today. He is what they call a whimp white male, I really hate that term because I think he has been really strong and done great! It is what it is though, he is struggling learning to eat all his feedings from the bottle and not need to NG tube. I believe he should be home in the next week though.
I never imagined how heart breaking it could be to have to leave a LO in the NICU night after night. It seems as if although our hospital is wonderful we never have the same nurses! It sucks to leave on a good day but the few times we have had crappy nurses it makes it SO much worse!
My thoughts and prayers are will all you NICU mom's and your families. My twins boys were in the NICU for only 11 days but still they were the hardest days. Leaving the hospitals with out our LO's was the worst thing ever.
I am. My son, Ryan, has been in the NICU exactly 4 months today, and we're still looking at a few more months in there. He was born at 25 weeks, 1lb and 13oz. It's been a rough road, but we're really lucky because his only major issue seems to be his lungs. He has severe chronic lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. I'm hoping he'll surprise us all and come home before the doctors are predicting! It's been hard going to the NICU each day, especially with our 22 month old daughter at home.
I'm a current NICU mom. Julia was born at 30 w 2 d on July 1 and will likely be in the NICU until mid or late August.
DD#1, Alexa, Born 8/08; TTC # 2 since 3/2010; 8 IUI BFN; 1 cervical pregnancy in April 2011; IVF #1 Dec 2011 worked. EDD = 9/7/12. Bedrest starting 6/4/12. Julia Mae born 7/1/12, home 8/12/12.
Yes, I am a NICU mom who gave birth to my twin boys 3 weeks and 5 days ago. They were born at 29 weeks and 4 days. Things have been going fairly well for the two of them. They were 2 lb 7 oz and 2 lb 9 oz at birth. We have battled one getting an infection and recovering and now our other boy has an infection. We haven't been given a time frame of when our boys may be able to come home. I am guessing another month, but we'll see. Hang in there! What I feel is that preemies are natural fighters. I'm sure your little ones will continue to be strong and grow.
