For those whose LO's are STTN, on average how long are you LO's naps? I know every baby is different but I am wondering if there is a certain length of time that is just too long and will impact nighttime sleep.
Aria sleeps 8-10 hours a night. She'll take a 1-2 hour nap in the morning/around noon, then a 2-4 hour nap later in the day, with the length depending on how long she slept the night before. (8=4hr nap, 10=2 hour nap)
According to the national sleep foundation babies at 2 mos of age need anywhere from 12-18 hrs of total sleep. So count how much your LO sleeps at night then use the rest for naps. my dd is 4 months and has been sttn since about 6 weeks shes on more of a routine now, but generally her naps throughout the day are between 20-40 mins every 2 hours or so, more like she plays then dozes off which im fine with. she sleeps from about 10 pm to 7am
DD currently sleeps 11 hours at night. During the day she fell into a rhythm of eat, play, sleep. She'll be awake for 1.5-2 hours, asleep for 1. She repeats this cycle roughly 5 times before going down for the night, for a total of 5 one-hour naps.
ETA: DD is a great sleeper, though. Perhaps unusually so. Last night at 2am our smoke detectors went off, and she slept through the ear-piercingly loud alarm just outside her bedroom. Nothing really fazes her.
Typically she takes one longer nap in the morning (1 hour +) and then a
couple shorter ones in the afternoon (30-45 minutes). She sleeps from roughly 8:30pm - 7am.
DD STTN 8 hours and with a feeding 12 hours a night total (9 pm-6 am, nurses, back to sleep until 9 am). She takes a 1/2 hour morning nap, 3 hour afternoon nap from abbout 1:30-4:30 and a catnap after dinner.
