Last Thursday we were at Lilith's feeding therapy. Lilith was being unusally accepting, so the therapist pulled out a pretzle stick. The feeding therapist was able to put the pretzle stick in Lilith's mouth several times, and then she paused to talk to us. Apparently, Lilith liked that pretzle stick... a lot. So, she grabbed the pretzle stick from the therapist hand and shoved it right back into her mouth! She still won't eat the pretzle stick - but she loves licking off the salt.

And, apparently, something sank in, because just a few days later, as we were trying to give Lilith the taste of soup on our fingers, she decided to grab our fingers and shoved them inside her mouth too.

Sure, we're a long way off from any nutritive consumption. But, from a child who would gag whenever you got near her mouth, this is a HUGE step in the right direction.

That is huge! We get so excited anytime that DD is accepting of ANY food.... Congrats!

my son took his first unassisted step in a gait trainer yesterday! i cried, i wanted to run around and scream it.

if i had a big blinking sign that said "first step" i would carry that around! this is HUGE HUGE because he is non-ambulatory, non-verbal, hypotonic, poor head control, etc. what an amazing little boy

These are all awesome!

We met with an OT for the first time yesterday, and she gave us some suggestions of trying for eating. DD ate somewhat well when we put her in her bouncy chair and in a very quiet, dim room with classical music on. I don't know if it was better than before, but I liked the music we got to listen to! And, she drank 2 oz pretty happily!

Great stuff in here! We made some crinkle cut french fries at home and DS actually ate a couple! I was shocked. He's only had McDonald's or DQ fries before!

C actually used the sign for more this week. This is a small step but its a step and I will take it.

These are all great ladies!!!

A used the sign for more and said "nananan." She has never used that before. She also held two different things in her hands and didn't seem to mind. It only lasted a little bit and then she grabbed two of the same things.

She also played a little bit outside without having to go pick up two sticks or two leaves.
