I know everyone is different and since I'm ancient(42) that is my ovaries are ancient......
I'm sorta of stressing out about the mounting costs of the meds Im using this cycle. We are about $4000 in and I dont think we are close to the end. Tonight will be day 9 of injectables. Follies are a litlte slow and very difficult to see.....one side only one could be seen @ 6.7 small and poor.....the other side about five ranging from 7 to 9 some where........I don't think this is a great report?????? I will say Im pleased that there are more than 3 follicles.....but wholly six days of 450 gonalF and 75 menopur!!!!! Come on, seriously ovaries....there are some decent bits in there, I know it!!!!! That is a lot of "drugs", is this not close to the max. esp of the gonal?
Still trying to stay positive on our final journey , "faith can still beat the odds"
**** really the sizes were measured @ day 8 ...slow but not as dissmal as I thought....still hope

I think it's great you have six in the running. My response is very slow too. The cycle I stimmed the longest, I had the best graded embryos with very little fragmentation. I really do think that slow is steady is the way for us AMA patients to go. I stimmed for 17 days on that cycle with 600 of fsh.
On another cycle I had slow growth and then around cd 10 my e2 stalled right around 400 with 4 follicles. I knew it was to early to trigger but they told me it was time, I really wish I would have just cancelled that cycle.
I think as long as there is steady growth and your E2 is rising, slow is steady is a good thing. Best of luck!

Yep - slow ... but slow and steady wins the race. My dr once told me that stimming slower will produce a better egg than a fast stim. don't know how true that is but it made me feel better at the time. As far as the maximum dose goes, I think the amount of gonal-f you can take as a maximum depends on how much menopur you are on. I was on 3 - 4 vials of menopur a night so my max dose of gonal was 300 but I know women who have taken 450 2X a day with no menopur. I am sorry about the costs - that does bite. My meds total came to 8,700 (including the meds for DH which were under $50).
I pray this is your cycle - good luck!
