When do you mail invites?

I feel like I'm always too early with invites.

DD's party is Aug. 18... I said to RSVP by the 11th.

When would you mail the invites?

Re: When do you mail invites?

  • End of the month, about 3 weeks in advance.

  • If it were me, I'd mail them now. I don't think that a month before the party is too much time.

    Me: 30   DH: 32
    TFAS since May 2013
8/14 - Bloodwork showed heterozygous MTHFR gene mutation and elevated AMH (but no cysts)
9/14 - HSG, Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy showed tubes clear, but found and removed Endometriosis, scar tissue and 2 small benign masses on my tubes.
11/14 - Daily ultrasounds confirmed that my follicles are not releasing the egg and every other day blood draws showed very low progesterone... DH's SA was near perfect
12/14 - moving onto meds!!! Hold up!!!  Surprise BFP after only taking the progesterone!  Now what do I do with all of the other meds we already paid for?!  Due at the end of August 2015 Beta#1- 4434 @ 22DPO  Beta#2 - 7335 @ 25DPO Beta #3 - 14429  @ 28DPO
  • I was going to say end of the month also.....

  • 6-8 weeks prior to the event.
  •

    Mail them on July 28th!

  • Babies second birthday party is August 4 and I just sent invites yesterday.  Usually two or two and a half weeks out.

Don't bank on people RSVPing.   We only had half of the kids show up to Emerson's party in April and only one person declined (I asked for regrets only).  It's frustrating.

  • I usually start spreading the word on the date well in advance, and I get invites out at least 4 weeks ahead of time (if not earlier).

With DD's birthday being in the summer, I try to give as much notice as possible

We are only doing family and close friends.  Luckily 99% of them RSVP.  The only ones who didn't were two of my aunts, but they told my mom (not me) that they were coming.

  • I aim for 3-4 weeks.

  • I think 3 weeks is best, but I'm way overeager with invites and usually send them out a week earlier than that (so, 4 weeks before the party).
