DD will only eat sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and oatmeal. She hates any and all fruit and acts like I'm trying to feed her dog sh*t whenever I attempt. She also apparently hates yogurt.
I'm wondering if I should keep attempting the stuff she doesn't like or just be grateful that I may have a kid who actually prefers veggies.
Thoughts?
Oh, and when do you all plan to try finger type foods like banana slices, avocado pieces, Cheerios, that type of stuff?
Re: Baby food likes and dislikes
If you already have stock of the things she doesn't like, why not sneak in a few bites when she is eating something she enjoys, or mixing a fruit in with her sweet potatoes?

I"m sure you've seen this already, but here it is just in case.
You can mix bananas with avocados, maybe you can get it in that way?
The advice I've heard is to keep offering foods they don't like. Maybe they'll eat it, maybe they won't. But at least you're giving them the chance to warm up to it.
DS loves squash. He's only had it once so far, but he was gulping down every spoonful. He doesn't like bananas for whatever reason, but he takes peas ok.
I'm steadily making his purees more chunky and watching how he handles it. When he can handle purees with little to no added water and it's very chunky, I'll probably give him some soft finger foods to practice feeding himself with. Cheerios and the sort probably won't be too far after. He doesn't have teeth yet, so I'm cautious about what he gets for now.
Our LO hates fruits too, so the pedi said to mix a spoonful in with a couple spoonfuls of veggies. He also said to try lots of mixes. We finally found one just today that he liked- bananas and mixed berries!
We're already starting with table foods. Kind of like BLW, but with purees in the mix. I give him puffs too, even though he can't really pick them up and eat them. It's just for practice! If you research BLW, you'll discover babies can't pick up foods like that and put them in their mouth until they're developmentally capable of chewing them and eventually swallowing. If you do give puffs or Cheerios, do NOT put them in his mouth for him!
