My OB won't even guess for fun. I tried to get a guess out of him bc everyone is guessing when I'm going to have the baby. He said I wasn't going to get a guess out of him.

Same here. He was like "I could give you an estimated time frame, but I'd most likely be wrong, so why bother?"

I was told by other nurses and doctors that my OB is very optimistic. Sometimes it's good, but other times I feel like he's just getting my hopes up.

I'm with the PP's whose OB's won't speculate on when the baby will be born. Thank goodness! I would much prefer that they don't say anything at all since they really don't know. And to answer your question, yes they are right that your baby could come "any day now"... But I am not a Dr and even I know that!

My OB has a reputation for correctly guessing the weight and due date of babies. He was exactly right on the weight (8 lbs on the dot) and one day off on the date, though technically my contractions started in the middle of the night, so he was really only off by 2 hours or so.
