Dishes are DONE!!

I don't even want to begin to count the days (or weeks??) that our pots and pans have been sitting in our sink/on our counter waiting to be washed. I love DH, but for some reason this is the one chore he pretty much refuses to do. While doing them today I reminded him that doing them already hurt my back before I was pg, and there's no way I'm even going to be able to even reach the sink soon (I'm short and our counters are meant for tall people who have a long reach)...so he's gang to have to do them soon. He said he knows...we'll see how that goes when it comes ;)

But for now, the dishes are DONE!!! Woohoo!!!

Re: Dishes are DONE!!

  • I did mine too today! Too bad there was a bowl my husband let get moldy in there that made me dry heave for a while. I don't know why dishes are so difficult for him that he can't manage to even put them in an empty dishwasher but I guess I knew this when I married him.

I even swept, mopped the floors, and dusted today. It's the most productive I've been in weeks. Not because I had the energy to but felt stressed and grossed out by the state of our house.

Yay us for having done dishes!

You totally outdid me!! Our floors are still a mess. Lol. I guess they're not terrible, but they're not "clean" either. Ha.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! I keep asking DH to help with them...and it doesn't happen. I really need to get ontop of them.
  • I guess I am lucky. My DH will rise out his dishes, but actually putting them in the dishwasher....nope. Why?! There is one extra step involved! Oh well, at least there isn't moldy dishes like some PPs talked about Ick!

  • DH did dishes 2x in a row! I'm so happy! I did clean the floors though so I wasn't completely lazy this weekend. Wink

  • I got mine done yesterday too!! It felt like such an accomplishment lol. My DH is gone for four days in a row every week, so I have to get them done.... but they sit there for a few days until I get a burst of energy or just can't stand it any more.
  • I hate having dirty dishes in the sink but DH can let them sit for a few days . . . or more.  We just moved into a new house and we are currently dishwasherless so we are currently having to hand wash everything.  The sink is very shallow so it does not take much to fill it up.  I was completely exhausted the other night and ended up waking up the next morning to both sides of the sink overflowing and pots and pans on the counter.  I think DH felt guilty when he saw that the first thing I did was start to wash dishes. Hopefully, we get a dishwasher in the next month.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!  I always feel so lazy for letting the dishes sit in the sink for days, but DH nor I really like to do them.  Glad I'm not the only one with dirty dishes.

I just got done vacuuming and mopping and after my bump break, it's dish time...
