I feel like I have tried everything. Swaddle, no swaddle. Crib, swing, white noise, rocking. Dd will not sleep longer than 20 min at a time during the day. The longest stretch is prbably half an hr. When she wakes, I try to shush or rock her back to sleep but she is wide awake. But I feel like she is basically tired all day long, and we spend the entire day trying to go back down for a nap. I look for signs that he is tired and put her down right away...it just doesn't seem to work. Anyone else going through this? Any suggestions??

Re: Catnapper - help!

Carseat? Dd takes her longest naps when she falls asleep in the car. I carry the seat into the house and she sometimes sleeps 3 hours.
Also, totally off topic, but I read the title and thought someone had stollen your cat. I'm an idiot.
What worked for me is to follow the sleep, eat, awake, back to sleep routine (Secrets of the Baby Whisperer method). I found that if I kept LO awake a bit longer to make sure he was really tired when ready to sleep again, that helped. Also, at times I nursed him again before he was ready to sleep so that he would have a full tummy.
I've been there- what worked for me was to literally get out a pen and paper and track his cues for a few days. I was finding that he would nap for short periods as well. It helped to look back on how the day went and see areas where I could do something about his "rhythm." Not sure if that helps, but at least worth a shot. Good luck!
