We're switching DD's (6 yo) Nautilus over from a harness to high back booster mode. The manual says to only use the seat belt (and not the LATCH) to secure the seat, but I've read online that Graco has changed this and that they now say you can use the LATCH and tether to secure the seat, then the seat belt to secure your child. Does anyone know which is recommended?
And if you don't use the LATCH, should I remove the LATCH and tether straps? The manual doesn't make any mention of these when they talk about removing the harness - which makes me think I'm supposed to leave them on and just tuck them in somewhere.
Re: Graco Nautilus - LATCH in booster mode?
When using LATCH in booster mode the limits won't matter because the anchors are only holding the seat in place, not the child. The vehicle's seatbelt is still what would hold the child in place in an accident.
Thanks all. DD is tiny - 38 lbs at 6 years old. So nowhere near the 48lb limit for the LATCH in harness mode.
And I know the recommendation for the booster is 4 years and 40lbs (althought Graco says 30lbs as a minimum) but at 6 years old and 44" she is MORE than ready for booster mode.
