"Call me if your water breaks"

This is what DH said to me as he was leaving for work this morning!  Ya think?!?  I'm kind of going to need a ride to the hospital and you're it buddy!  He's driving me NUTS since Sunday.  Every grunt or noise I make, any time I'm in the bathroom or up in the middle of the night or call him during the day, the first thing he asks "Did your water break?".  He is so stinkin' anxious!  I had DD at 36w 6d, so this is the longest we've had to wait for a LO.  I think I might kill him if I go until my due date!

  • FTM but my DH is the same way. He says he hates going to work now since I could go at any minute. He says he has lost some sleep, because everytime I get up I could go into labor. It's sweet, but it doesn't help our state of minds that they are overly anxious. I tell my husband, I understand you are anxious, imagine how I feel.

  • My husband is the same way. He use to be kind of hard to get a hold of because he works on a construction site and hardly hears his phone. Now, he checks it all the time. Everytime I call he is wondering if it is time yet and he calls me all hours of the day to check on me.

I actually think it is really sweet but it does make me not want to call him sometimes, lol!

  • Hahaha, mine just texted and said "are you in labor yet?"  Yeah dingdong, I'm in labor, I'm going to go ahead and go to the hospital without telling ya...  men...

  • Ditto! Every night time pee break its "Everything ok?" "Is it time?"

I don't know who is worse, DH or my father, who everytime I call up on the phone answers with, "I've got my bag ready!"

Sigh... oh well. I guess it's better to care too much than not at all :)

  • They must all think alike!  Every time I put my hand on my stomach DH asks if I am okay.  I finally told him, "I'll let you know if something is wrong"

Every time too I have a doctor's appointment (I go twice weekly now so I don't even try to schedule them all so he can go with me) he tells me to text if everything is okay and call if it isn't.  So he is setting himself up for panic when he sees my name on the caller ID.  I usually call him anyways, hopefully the multitude of normal calls will make him less on edge when my name shows up.

Every time I go to get off the couch or change positions and grunt a little... DH asks "is it time?"

No, dummy.  Don't you worry. I will let you know when it's time.  And I'm pretty sure I'll make a lot more noise than that.

    Silly boys.

Same here!  I was saying, eee, cramps, deep breath, and he's like MAYBE YOU'RE IN LABOR.  Come on, DH.

  • My husband does this too.  I guess it is one of those silly obvious things that don't need to be said but we say anyway.  My husband is a cop and every morning I say, "Try not to get shot." Even though I am pretty sure he will even if i don't remind him.

  • Funny my DH is the same way, every day as he leaves for work he says "call me if anything happens" & then texts me from work to ask how I'm feeling...he's been this way since he heard the OB say I was term & she could come any day now lol

My husband's party line is, "Are you having the baby right now?" and since his face has the same expression of worry, fear, and 'what the hell just happened'?, it cracks me up every time.  I hope I still find it funny a few weeks from now if this little guy is still up in my ribcage.

  • My DH gives a little "pep talk" to my stomach every morning before he leaves for work, which I find sweet.  But then he always says "remember to call me if you go into labour, I can always leave work early".  Um yeah, obviously I'd tell you if I'm in labour - I'm not THAT worried about your work obligations.
  • My DH is starting to get that way sometimes its sweet and it makes me smile or times it like 'dude back off and dont touch me and just go away i am fine.' I was heading to the kitchen to get water last night and stopped (Elbow in the hip and it hurt) and he was right there what do you need? Is it time? Are you okay? Are you having a contractions? You would think this is the first time the poor man has gone through this. Other times like when we were laying down in bed watching tv getting our 'cuddle time' in LO started pushing and kicking and so he was pushing back you need to be nice to your mommy!

I swear the man is goin to either drive me crazy or go crazy himself before we are done. The constant questions everytime i stop moving or make a noise or say ouch has got to stop. But you got to love them. :)
