April 2012 Moms

I see that I am not the only one w/rockin green!

Yes, I am using the laundry babies thread to spy on your soap choices.
Stick out tongue

Even though we aren't CDing right now (grumble, grumble), I still love it. I mean, I still have to get poop out of cloth every day because Babysaurus is the queen of diaper blowouts. We only have one article of clothing with a poop stain on it, and I think it's because it sat for three days in the wetbag before it got washed. This is also with me only pretreating the very worst poop marks on the white stuff. When you have at least one blowout almost every day, that's an accomplishment! I mean, she had five (5!) blowouts yesterday, and ALL the clothes came clean. She has 2 today already. I swear, this girl has more costume changes than a Lady Gaga concert.

So who here is using it but didn't get it in a pic? For those who don't, what is your poop clean-up method?

  • Another argument for the cloth: no poop blowouts.

  • I've never even heard of rockin' green!

We've only had a couple of poo-on-clothing incidents, but I have some stain remover spray from Seventh Gen that I use.

  • I use the Fuzzibunz detergent by Rockin' Green.  I doesn't have a scent though, I kinda want to get one that smells yummy!  Although, all of our diapers already smell like Oatmeal & Honey because of our CJ's.

I have my first set of poop stained clothes. :( I waited WAY too long to wash. I was for. To experiment with putting things out in the sun to see if that helped, but I'm afraid I've ruined those things.

Is there any hope for these things now that they've been through a warm wash and are still orange?

I KNOW! We had one with the gdiapers. One. Ever. I seriously end up doing MORE laundry now.

  • Love my cloth diapers! And love Rockin Green, too!  I'm using the apple cider scent right now.

If you haven't put them in the dryer, try an enzymatic stain remover.  I find Shout gel gets just about anything out, but I feel like I have to be more "green" w/ DD's stuff, lol.

Even if your DH wont "let" you CD your DDs bleeding bum, you might want to try a different brand/size of disposables. ETA: have you tried an actual diaper cream yet? Olive oil isnt enough.

We went back to Earth's Best 'sposies, and the rash is down to a mild irritation reappearing once every few days after her naptime pee diaper. This is not ideal, but at least it doesn't make me want to cry, and her @ss isn't bleeding. Damn Huggies. NEVER AGAIN.

  • Adeline has never had a blowout, but Edie had them all the time.  Dish soap takes out the poop.  Just as it takes oil off oil spill birds.

  • I hope I don't jinx myself, but I don't use CDs and have had only one blowout.  I think the blowout was due to not being able to change the diaper right then and there.  Not to mention in the state that I live in is a desert and I'm just not sure if having more wash would be more green.

  • I don't use rockin green. I have tiny bubbles, crunchy clean, & ruby moon. I wanted to try a few & decide which one works best for us.

Definitely. We have been on disposables for a week due to broken washer/dryer. I can't wait to go back to cloth.

One load in an HE washer is about 20 gallons of water. The average 10 minute shower with an average (non-water-saving) shower head is 50 gallons of water. So, it's about as much water used as taking an extra 5 minute shower per day, if you have to do a load every day.
