For those who still can't fit into your wedding rings

I am 7 weeks PP and haven't even been able to get my rings past my knuckle since 30 weeks. Pregnancy was really awful on my body... I gained 50 lbs and lost almost nothing at my 6 week appointment, got extra wide feet which I never had before, went from a size 6 to a size 14 in clothes and I could go on (and on). I hate it all but nothing as much as the fact that I can't fit into my rings.

If any of you are in the same predicament, are you waiting to see if you lose weight and if that will make a difference? Or did you have your rings enlarged? The way mine are designed, making them bigger is a big and expensive undertaking. MH is more optimistic about me losing weight than I am and thinks I am jumping the gun by wanting to do this; I on the other hand would have done it yesterday. What do you ladies think?

I had a lot of swelling this time starting at around 18 weeks my rings haven't fit since then. I could have my engagement ring resized but my wedding band can't be. I'm not going to bother doing anything about it. By this point after my last baby I was able to wear them again but the weather was cooler. For now I'm wearing my grandmother's wedding set. Hopefully in a few months I'll have lost more baby weight and my fingers wont be swelling from the heat.

I can squeeze mine on, but they aren't comfortable yet. I'm not getting them resized - just waiting to lose more weight or have cooler weather.

I still can't fit it over my knuckle...and I feel like last time by now I could.

I guess I'll wait a while longer to see if the joint shrinks back down...but I'm doubtful.

Mine are starting to fit now but I've dropped 24 lbs. Perhaps talking to a dietician would help you lose the weight? I had a c-section so I'm not really excersizing so much either but I am making a point to go out of my way to drink water and eat as healthy as possible. I'm not sure if your breast feeding but if your not you could try the diet pill Ali I used it years ago and had great results just make sure to stick in your calorie count or you will have a very embarrasing outcome that will be similar to LO diaper

from what I have heard/read, it can take 6mo-a year to lose those pounds, especially if you gained a bit more. I would just wear them on a chain for now and continue to try and lose weight. I can't fit into mine either, and I gained only 25 lbs (I'm small though-5feet and started out at 108 lbs). I still weigh 116 and it sucks. I notice the same as you-my size 5 feet are NOT fitting into my shoes and I can't wear my rings either. I am hoping that after the summer heat ends I will see some reduction in swelling.

good luck-you can do it! Try joining a mom's club for some inspiration! The ladies I hang out with pretty much force me to take walks with them 3x a week!

I am two months post partum, still very far from my prepreg weight and my knuckles are mad-swollen. I'm waiting to lose weight before resizing. (I also have tendonitis in both wrists so I know I have even more swelling in my body.) How about getting a low price "place holder" ring to wear in the meantime?

I can't get mine past my knuckle either. I'm giving myself 6 mo before changing ring sizes.

I went to overstock.com and got myself a band that I wear now, without the diamond I am not worried about scratching baby, and I actually got my husband one too.. Now it's kinda like our "baby bands" when we went out last night we wore our baby bands and not our wedding rings (and I fit into mine still) It went from something that I wore so I would not feel like a single 16 & pregnant mom hahaha (jk) to something that means a lot to us!

I don't think you will stay that size and once you get back to your normal weight you will be able to put yoru rings back on.. kinda like a sing of accomplishment..

So ya.. I would not get them resized...

P.S. - They bands on overstock only ended up costing me around $50 with shipping and they are white gold.. I say give it a try!

Thanks ladies. I was upset at MH because it seems like he just doesn't want to spend the money on resizing. Maybe I am being over sensitive.

I am up exactly 50 lbs from where I was a year ago, 15 of it the IF weight that I never dropped before getting pregnant and 48 from being pregnant. At my six week checkup I only lost a pathetic 13 pounds (and I am breastfeeding!) which officially puts me in the obese category. With a lifetime of body image issues, this is truly casting a black cloud on my life and my empty fat finger is a constant reminder on how I got myself into this unhealthy sad mess. I've looked into fake replacements but honestly haven't seen anything that costs less than it would be to enlarge the original.

My baby is 10 weeks and I have lost 47 pounds (I gained about 55) and my rings are still tight. Only a couple weeks ago I could get them past my knuckle but still too tight to wear all day. Give yourself time and I am sure our rings will fit soon. But it is way too soon to resize. Chances are your rings will fit but we just have to be patient.
