for those dealing with babies who cry/fuss excessively

This website really helped me: https://www.purplecrying.info/

I got a few ideas from it for helping her, but mostly it just felt good to read something that told me it was normal and would end eventually. I was tired of everyone telling me "She must have gas!" and "There must be something wrong with your breastmilk that's irritating her, you should switch to formula". I always felt that she was normal and that it wasn't gas or breastmilk, but when your kid is on her third hour of crying, your confidence is pretty much ruined and you start to question everything. Reading this and the other parents' experiences helped a lot.

  • Thank you for sharing this. I keep reading from people how their babies crying peaked at between 6-8 weeks and i cried inside thinking omg it gets worse hahaha. Now im just kind of used to it. It gets frustrating dont get me wrong but i feel so much better now that my husband is helping more. He even got up with her this weekend on her night feedings. I told him yesterday he had no idea how much thT helped me. I still woke up but was able to go right back to sleep
  • Thanks for sharing! It is so good to know we're not alone! It's funny my MIL seemed surprised at how fussy my son is. Then she found her son's baby book and read that he went through the same thing at this age. People really do forget how hard these times are!

This. We're almost at 6 weeks, and I don't dare get my hopes up so I'm trying to set my sights on 8 weeks now. It's been this way for so long that I can't even picture DD ever changing...

  • I agree! The hospital actually sent the DVD home with us and I didn't even remember I had it until one sleepless night with non stop crying. My husband and I were at wits end when we found it and it really does work. We also recorded 10 min of the hair dryer on our cell phones because thats calms our LO down too. Good luck!
