BEST. RANT. EVER.
Honestly, I am (hopefully) laughing WITH you, not at you, but I nearly died. Your sense of humour matches mine LOL.
Ps. This stupid ban hit our city a couple of years back, and it drives me nuts. I bought the green bins, I bought the stupid cloth bags... and I always forget them at home. And I reuse the plastic bags to scoop kitty litter. So ya. I'm with ya!
Re: ~Pepperchanning~ re: grocery bags.
YAY! I'm so glad you guys agree!
I mean, really, what will my baby play with now that all the plastic bags are gone? So sad!
Actually, I really love using those bags around the house. I have a big collection of plastic bags and paper bags (with handles) and we use them in our mini trash cans (like in the bathroom and such) because I cannot imagine paying for mini trash bags for those cans! They help with poops while we go on hikes with our pooches and I follow bf around the backyard holding the HANDLES of a paper bag while he scoops their poops into it!!
I can remember using the paper bags in highschool for covering my books! Without handles, I suppose that's all they are good for now. They went straight into the recycling yesterday after I got home- what good are they in there? I would've totally kept them and REUSED them if they had handles! (reduce- REUSE-recycle.. that's what we learned in gradeschool!)
I think I was most irritated because they didn't give anyone any leeway for finding out about this ban and then when you show up they look at you like you are such a horrible person for not bringing your own bags. Like I am solely responsible for the downfall of the planet because I haven't converted to non-plastic-bagism!
Very frustrating...but I do suppose it is my fault for living in such a granola-eating town and not paying attention to the local news. Hahaha.
I forget the darn bags every time I turn around. If I remember them 1 out of 5 times I am happy.. seriously! We don't have a ban or get charged for them but they are always trying to make it happen. I guess if it did happen I wouldn't forget many more times.
We use those bags for Kitty litter and other things too... I will miss having them around at some point, BUT I have such a stockpile right now I should be good for at least a year!!!
