Does anyone have a good recommendation for a Seattle area Doula? I didn't have one with DS, but DH got so overwhelmed that he wasn't really all that much help. This time around I'd like to have some more backup when the time comes, as much for my benefit as for DH!
Check out the Doula Match website for one in your area/price range. Kate Rollins of Let it be Birth and Rebecca Shepherd of Sacred Sprout have been used by several people on the board. They are great and have very different styles.
I used the PALS website to find mine https://www.palsdoulas.org/ I found a couple who were available and in my price range and then conducted some interviews. A doula is a personal thing: one whI works well with me may not work well with you, so it is good to talk to at least a couple of them before you decide. The doula probably wants to make sure she is a good fit with you to.
I cannot recommend my doula highly enough, she was fantastic before, during, and after labor! Her name is Lauren Strain. I really need to write review for her on doulamatch...a newborn takes up so much time!
HIGHLY recommend Alyssa Morgan!! She is amazing and has the best personality. Very informative, willing (and able!) to listen, encourage you throughout your pregnancy and in general be there for you! www.seattledoulagirl.com
