My mom ordered some inserts off of Ebay that have a bamboo outside but microfiber on the inside. I've looked up how to prep diapers and they have different ways to prep each type. The site I just checked said that you should prep synthetic fiber inserts separate from natural fiber inserts- obviously not an option. I'm guessing I should just wash them 3-6 times like they suggest for natural fibers, does that sound right? Anyone done the boiling for half an hour route instead of washing so many times?
Thanks for your help!
Re: How to prep these inserts?
Huh. That's a weird combo for an insert. My inclination would be to treat it like a synthetic fiber insert and wash/dry once. You could always wash it and test how absorbant it is. If it's still not up to standards, wash it like a natural fiber insert.
The reason why you should prep synthetic separate from natural is there are oils in the natural fiber diapers that could get into the synthetic diapers. It probably wouldn't ruin them, but that's why the recommendation is there.
