I just started prenatal yoga - I love it!! I'm totally out of shape, but I thought I'd start a gentle exercise program now so I won't get too pudgy during this pregnancy. With my son I gained 56 lbs. I was absolutely enormous!
I always did and last pregnancy I made it up until 20 weeks before I was told to stop b/c of cervical issues. I still am this time but I'm taking it easy and will talk to my high risk Dr about what I should and shouldn't do
I did some since I was starting to lose some weight I lost 11lbs n with the help of eating right too. But now I'm not sure what I can do, I did some work out DVDs, some Wii and also running in place at home. I'm holding off until my first appt, this is my first so I don't know what I should be doing.
I do. I've stopped high impact sports (kickboxing), but still still strength train and will statrt running again when my girls stop hurting as much! haha.
I refuse to look like an oompa loompa so I am walking and jogging every morning.
Me too. I also want a healthy and natural birth and I know that being fit helps with that. Before pregnancy I went to a yoga class 4-5 times a week. I'm now doing it about 3 times a week, mostly because I'm exhausted and don't have the energy for much more than that. But basically, on days that I feel good, I go to yoga. If I feel great M-F, then I'm there on that mat.
Exercising is important and *good* for your pregnancy and labor. I would certainly be doing something several times a week, even if it's just walking.
Ive purchased a fw prenatal work out videos that go through the trimesters. One by Lindsey Brine and Summer Sanders. i chose them from reviews on Amazon.
Im a Jillian Michael s fan so the interval videos was what I wanted to continue doing. I wont to stay toned. I gained 45lbs with DS. I WILL NOT do that again!

I am wanting to start again (Stopped three weeks ago). Dr. said to stay off my feet, bc of some light bleeding. Not sure how long that is supposed to last!
I found some great exercise DVDs on Netflix that I'm pretty excited about. I started today with Fit & Healthy Prenatal Workouts with Gabrielle Reece. The video is broken down into specific exercises by trimester and then within the trimester by month. She filmed it in real time during her pregnancy which is pretty cool. https://www.amazon.com/Gabrielle-Reece-Healthy-Prenatal-Workouts/dp/B000YGGNEW
I like doing workouts that are specifically tailored to pregnancy. I'm not a big exercise person to begin with and the one I did today was great. I felt like I got a good workout without wanting to fall down and die.
I just started with a personal trainer two weeks ago. I'm going to quit because I haven't been in shape and I don't want to push it, plus its kind of expensive. I'd rather save the money and try to do some light workouts on my own.
I've been walking a few times a week, though its been hard lately with it being so hot out. I have a prenatal yoga dvd a friend gave me after her son was born, but haven't done it yet. My goal once the weather breaks is 30 minutes every day. My same friend did that, and had a 10 lb 12 oz baby!!
I cut back on some of my exercise classes before getting pregnant. I injured my knee during a run and just haven't been to same since then. My plan right now is to do a lot of walking, light jogging (assuming my knee tolerates it), and maybe ride a bike at the gym and swim. I don't know for sure what I'll end up doing, but I will definitely be doing something! And eating healthy this time around! No "but I'm pregnant..." excuses!
Married to J since 5/05, Mommy to T (10/08), L (08/10) and C (02/13) who was born at home.
For my first pregnancy, I would go on the elliptical about twice a week until the third trimester. Plus, I was a Kindergarten teacher so that was exercise in itself haha. This time around, I am chasing around a 1 year old and taking ballet once a week. In an odd way, it energizes me.
I will still jog a couple days a week. My DH and I will walk the dog every morning for 30-45 minutes. Just getting back into yoga and ordered some prenatal yoga DVD earlier in the week. I have the fear of gaining tons of weight and really don't want this to happen!
