Poll - Skip Hop, JJ Cole, or Diaper Dude

I want a neutral/black bag for DH and I to share.  I was set on the Skip Hop Duo, but in the store the other two just felt nicer.  I'm leaning towards the JJ Cole - it just felt so nice, but it's my least favorite look.  All are in the $55-65 range.

Re: Poll - Skip Hop, JJ Cole, or Diaper Dude

  • My only advise is not the JJ Cole one. Mine just like that started to tear at the zipper after 2 weeks and when I called the company they said it was common ... Huh what????? I just started using a backpack instead.

I heard this same thing from a couple friends when I was registering for stuff for DD#1 so I avoided the JJCole--i voted for Skip Hop. I LOVE my studio bag. Looks brand new 3 years later.

  • I got DH a messenger-style diaper bag from Eddie Bauer to satisfy his manly-ness request. It was $60 at Eddie Bauer and then I saw that Target has a very similar, though slightly smaller, EB bag for $40.

Sorry to high jack but---Did the company do anything about this "common" problem? I hope so!

I have a a JJ Cole in a different style and have had good luck with it.

I don't have any experience with any of these bags personally though so no vote from me.

  • Diaper Dude...we've had it since before DD was born.  We used it for the 1st year of her life and shared it everywhere.  I love the way it is organized and how it looks like a messenger bag when DH is wearing it.

We'll use the Diaper Dude as DD's travel bag now as she is getting older (almost 2).

I personally don't like the look of the Skip Hop for a neutral bag for the 2 of you.  I would have suggested JJ Cole because it looks cool, but not after what was said by the PP.

I had the same problem with that bag 4 years ago!  Zipper broke.  They sent me a new one.  4 months later, it broke again!  I opted to get a different bag this time from them.  I went with the Tote.  It was great, but a tad small.

I recently bought a Skip Hop and will never go back to JJ Cole!

But for a guy, I think the Diaper Dude is perfect.

Yes.  There is a 1 year warranty on all their bags.  They have very good customer service, but after two ripped bags, I got fed up!

  • DH has a Diaper Dude and he/we almost never use it. Those 3 front pockets are nice but there is almost no space in the interior. I have a Skip Hop Duo Deluxe which is pretty good, but also kind of too small now that I have to bring sippies, snacks, and toys. DH ends up carrying my diaper bag when we go out (and I carry the baby) so I kind of wish I had got a more neutral one for myself.
