Went out for a pedi, coming home with my baby!

Friday morning, I left to get a pedicure, and tomorrow, I will go home with a baby girl! My water broke shortly after my pedi, but I had to be induced due to an irritable uterus (I already knew I had to be induced bc of this, but it was scheduled for next week). In the middle of a heat wave, thunderstorm, and power outage (and after a car accident 2 weeks ago and a traumatic fall off a stepstool last week) Juliana Mariska finally arrived at 8:40 yesterday morning. She is 7lbs 14 oz and 21 inches long, with blonde hair and huge eyelashes, and she is healthy! I have had some complications due to anemia, IBS, and irritable uterus, but we are scheduled to go home tomorrow!

Congrats! It's pretty awesome that you could get in that one last bit of relaxation with the pedicure!

Funny thing is, I always go to the same place, and my tech wasn't massaging as vigorously as he usually does. When I told hm he could press harder he said, "you know that will induce labor, right?" I replied, "No, it's fine with my doctor. Baby's not coming on her own. She won't be here for a week!"
