My name is Amanda but everyone calls me Mandy. I like both names fine, but I don't like having two names.
Every class, I had to correct the teacher and say I go by Mandy. Then on my resume, I use Amanda because it's my real name and sounds more professional, but once I start I have everyone call me Mandy. But, my email address still has Amanda...and sometimes people accidentally email the wrong address starting it with an 'm' instead. It's just kind of annoying/confusing at times.
I probably wouldn't mind as much if the two names started with the same initial, like Jennifer/Jen. But they are just different enough to make it annoying. This is why I like short names that you can't nickname.
My name is Diana. I love my name--it is a classic.

My name is Audra and I've always liked it. It's different and I never had to share it with anyone in my class. My middle name is Helene and my husband loves that too. We're contemplating it as a first name for a girl.
My name is Shana (the first a is long as in Shay-nah). When I was younger it could be frustrating because people were always mispronouncing it but now I love it and I don't care if people don't say it right or not! I think it is a beautiful name.
Eh. I don't mind it. I'm named after Amie by Pure Prairie League. They just adjusted the spelling.
I'm Aimee too, not named after the song though. I don't really care for it, just because nobody ever spells it correctly, even after I correct them. I wouldn't mind Amy though.
I completely agree. I do like the spelling, but I haaaaaaaaaaaaate the constant misspellings. Daily. Its ridiculous.
I'm Paige. There were no other Paige's when/where I grew up, so I didn't like it. Didn't want to be the only "weird" one but now I love it. It fits me, I think. It's become more popular these days, I've noticed.
Jennifer - I don't hate it but it is boring. I never liked being "Jen Q" instead of just "Jen" because there were always 43 other Jen's in my class/work/wherever.

My mom wanted to name me Melinda, but my dad wanted Mindy. They compromised; on my BC, I'm Melinda, but everyone calls me Mindy. My mom wanted me to have a more formal name for when I got older, but I've never liked Melinda. The only people who call me Melinda are my mom and doctors; I also got called my full name when I was in trouble. To this day, if someone were to call me Melinda, I think I'm in some kind of trouble. I love my name, Mindy!
My name is Aimee - Wasn't so crazy about it as a kid but now I like it. I am very happy that it wasn't spelled Amy I just automatically spell it for people if its a situ where they need to write it. No big deal-- I actually think it often makes them pause and remember it more
Also hated having Patricia as my MN growing up- I wanted something much cooler for 80's like Ashley or Lisa- but now as an adult I love having a family name with tradition...
My name is Melinda. I've never really liked it, but I dont think it's horrible. On the plus side, I never had any other classmates with my name, and have only met a handful of Melinda's in my life. On the negative side, I've gone through life being called Melissa, and in my opinion, Melinda sounds a little coarse. I dont like many names with the "duh" sound.
Like the previous poster, my family calls me Mindy. Cute on child, however, as an adult, I dislike it. To my ears, it sounds like a pig-tailed, hyperactive, annoying kid.

My name is Aimee too! I am ok with it but I hate the spelling issues I face. I get so many versions of my sspelling. We made sure to spell our daughters name the normal way
mine is Sarah Courtney and I've never had a problem with it except people spelling it without an H.

I don't think I'd be a fan of mine, "Jamie," but my mother named me for my dad, who was my best friend, best person I've ever known I do like it.
It wasn't popular (I'm an almost-mid 70's baby ) when I was growing up, a plus.

Caitlin is super-popular for people my age (born in '91), and I have always felt like my mother gave me a youneek spelling. I lived, though. /shrug/
