Progesterone dropping?

I just got a call from my RE that my progesterone has dropped from 25.6 to 18 in the last week.  They don't seem concerned about it but I thought progesterone was supposed to rise during pregnancy.  I think I'm going to fill my prometrium rx.  I wasn't on it because this is a surprise pregnancy and my levels were fine.  Is it normal to have fluctuating numbers?  Thanks.
*Formerly peainthepod?* TTC since 1/1/2006. All cycles BFN! IUI's & IVF with no luck. Emergency surgery 11/07 due to hemmoraging cyst on left ovary. 3rd HSG showed complete blockage of right tube (the good side), endo/cysts/adhesion removal 11/11. New start for 2012! Surprise BFP 6/17/12, due 2/12/13. It's a boy!!! Baby Boy born on January 26, 2013.

    My levels have fluctuated as well and I am on progesterone.  I wouldn't start taking prometrium without talking to your doctor about it.  Maybe call them back, say that you are concerned and ask them if it is ok for you to take progesterone for peace of mind.  Don't just put yourself on it without your doctor's approval.
    DX: Anovulation
    TX: IUI #1-4 = BFN + 1 c/p
    IUI #5: Clomid 100mg + Bravelle + Trigger + B2B IUIs + 800mg Progesterone = BFP!

    Mine dropped and I was on progesterone.  Like the PP said, I would call your RE and let them know that you are concerned.  But I wouldn't start taking meds without instruction from your RE to do so.  Good luck!

    My RE said a fluctuation in progesterone is normal. Call your RE.
