Helping to stop leakage?

My baby is 6 weeks old. I have been bfing and pumping for 4 weeks (only pumping in the morning). My dd eats about 4-6 oz per feeding already. Because of this, when she sleeps for more than 4 hours at night, I leak all over ... Through my pads onto my shirt. Is there anything I can do to lessen my flow? I have way more milk than needed stored - about 120 oz. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

  • your supply might still be regulating.  I had to wear nursing pads all the time, I always leaked, even after my supply regulated.

is it possible the pads are moving around while you sleep and that is causing wetness? or perhaps you need to try a different nursing pad?

  • I think the only thing to do is to set up a fresh pair of pads next to you at night and set the alarm to get up and change them. The Lansinoh Disposables seem to be th biggest and most absorbent. There is also a product called Lily Pads I think that are meant to stop leakage overnight but I have never looked into those. The leaking will get less as your supply regulates, but if you're a leaker, there will probably always be some leakage to some extent. I'm 10 weeks in and still have a small amount whenever I feel a let down.

  • Oh and you might also want to try the overnight bamboobies if you haven't already.

  • Avent makes these uber thick night pads. Maybe wear a couple on each side. I leak at night every now and then and it always makes me sad that milk is wasted...
  • Thanks everyone! I will try a few of those things!
