Weekly Non Stress Test from 36 weeks on? Clicky Poll

My first pregnancy I never had a single one. This doctor wants to do one weekly. I am not high risk. Just curious how many of you have them done weekly after 36 weeks.[Poll]

  • I know tons of girls that had nst's for the last month of their pregnancy, just to check on the movement and heartbeat of the baby. It will only be 4 maybe 5 appts and you most likely are seeing the dr and way right? Just consider it great time to lay down and do nothing!!

  • 33 weeks on, and I have them twice a week. Not sure if I'm high risk necessarily, but I do have Factor V Leiden so that's why she wanted to monitor me more closely.

  • Only a few short weeks and I start my twice a week NST'st at 32wks! Just another way to make sure your LO is doing good! I am high risk though, not sure how many regular ob patients get them done but some doctors take the extra step to make sure things are good for their patients and baby!

  • I'm getting them weekly starting last Friday (27w5d) due to just moving into the high risk category.  I also have a complete biophysical profile along with growth scans as well.  Again, weekly.

If you're not high risk, what reason did your doc give for having the weekly tests?

He just said it's routine in his practice to do them - which is why I thought it was odd.

  • Only had one with my DS1 at 41 weeks to make sure that the baby was alright to stay in there a little longer. Unless you're high-risk, I don't think that it's necessary. However, you should probably go with your doctor's recommendation.

  • I haven't had a single one and nothing has been mentioned about one coming up. Is it standard to do them or just with high-risk pregnancies?

It is odd, but whatever.  Guess it's standard for them.

In other news, your EDD is my DS birthday <3
