Poop....TMI

DS has always been a frequent pooper...a good 5 dirty diapers a day.

For the past 2 days, however, he only poops ONCE a day...and when he does...it's a mess. I'm talking spill out of the diaper, all over the legs and his bed messy.

He's seemed MUCH more gassy as well. (stinky gas too!)

& even a bit more fussy; as if he can't get it out.

And honestly, I couldn't even explain what his poop looks like now even if I wanted to...it's just gross.

Normal? Constipation?

Talk to me about your LO's poop at this stage.

By the way!: He is breastfed. Although we have been supplementing for the past 2 weeks now. He never had any change in poop until yesterday though!

My literature from the public health nurse says that breastfed babies can go days without a poop, after a month old. I've spoken to other moms who've gone through that, and they say when the poop Does come, it's Big. We're still getting about 2-3 poops a day, but even those are huge and stinky and was told it is normal.

C is a BF baby, and she poops about twice per day. When she does, it is an explosion. It sucks. We keep two backup outfits in the diaper bag.

As long as the consistency is like a breast fed baby's poop should be then he isn't constipated.

Their pooping habits change as they get older, and I think there are specific ages where you should expect change, but I can't remember what it is!

My first would go 7-14 days between poops which is normal for a bf baby.

This one goes after each feeding, practically before she even finishes eating. And sometimes more often than that!

LO was having several small poops a day but this week, she's been pooping every other day and when she does, it is epic.  I don't know what karma I've built up, but DH has gotten the massive blowouts all week
