For the past couple days Kate's been having some gas issues. Gripe water isn't working, gas drops are just okay, so I'm thinking of trying Colic Calm. A couple questions...1.) when do you give it to your LO? I was thinking about giving it to her right before her last bottle, as her gas is worse at night. Is once a day enough?2.) did you notice a difference right away? Kate is extremely restless at night because of her gas, and I'm hoping it might settle her down a bit.3.) is your LO's gas worse at night? Kate is fine all day, and then bam, she's miserable.
Re: Xp: anyone give their LO Colic Calm to help with gas?
I just commented on this on the 0-3 board, not sure if that was your post. Anyway - what I use is "Colic Calm Homepathic Gripe Water" - so I don't know if you're talking about something else or not. If so, I didn't know if there was something separate just called Colic Calm. Anyway, I'm talking about the black stuff. It's awesome. DD has horrible gas issues - it's all day BUT the WORST was at night. Her nighttime bottle and settling down afterwards would go on for HOURS until I switched to Nutramigen and started using CC. We've been using it for a week and it has been awesome. No other gripe water worked for her though. We give it to her like 20 min before her nighttime bottle straight from the syringe into her mouth between cheek and gum. It seriously has saved me a lot of sanity, and believe me nothing else has worked. I always read all these posts how a certain product "saved my baby" and I would try it and...nothing. But I'm happy to say that did find a product that I feel that way about!
Oh, and yes - the couple times I gave it to her after eating/when she has gas I've noticed it usually works within 5-10 minutes. I've had to give the second dose though before. (it mentions you can do it up to 3 times, 30 minutes apart). Good luck!!
