Is this just bloating, fat or an actual baby belly beginning? After having relatively the same waist measurements for several yrs, I know for a fact that my waist is 2.5 in bigger than it was a month ago when it was measured for my wedding dress. and my belly (measuring about an inch under my belly button) is 3 in. bigger. I am very welcoming to a baby belly, but it seems a little soon and i'm worried this is just the effects of craving too much mexican food.
Is anyone else getting some girth this early?
Re: Is this a baby belly in the 6th week, or just fat?
I thougth I was the only one!
I am not even 6 weeks...but I am on progesterone so who knows I am super bloated!

It's bloat. It's likely you will be rounder for a few weeks then it will go away after first tri and you won't start to really show until 16 weeks or later. This was the case with my pregnancy and most of the other women on my other BMB and IRL friends.
I know it's fun to feel like it's starting though!
And I'll get flamed for this I'm sure....
I definitely think some women show much earlier. I see a huge difference between my lower stomach now and my lower stomach 5 weeks ago. I'm not super constipated and I've only gained 2.5 pounds, but it's definitely something. Also, there's no sucking that thing in either. I can suck in the top of my stomach, but the bottom stays put and is a bit hard. I'll take it. It's the main symptom I have (except for I feel like I'm carsick this morning YAY!!!!).
whatever it is, I have it too
I've been the same weight for years, and I'm only up about 3 pounds since I found out I was pregnant, but I feel like I have a little belly.... I'm pretty sure it's bloat and constipation, but I definitely went and bought some bigger shirts than I usually wear this week to cover up!

I do agree with the fact that it is casued by pregnancy and baby, but that does not mean it is a "baby bump". As I'm sure you know your uterus is waaay below your pelvic bone still and your baby is very tiny still.
I felt the same way my first pregnancy though and won't take your happy feelings away. I was just sad when around 13 weeks that bloat went away and I realized it really wasn't baby! It did come back for real a while later and that I was proud of. Of course some women retain the bloat and it melds into the legit baby bump later on so it's as if they started showing early.
I am very bloated and feel like I look pregnant, but I know this is impossible since I am only 5 weeks. This is totally off subject but your name says mhalpert, alpert happens to be my middle name (mom's maiden name) and I have not seen anyone with that name before.
