We're sick =(

We have our first cold...and when I say "we", I mean the whole house.  What can I do for DS?  I thought cold medicine for kids was taken off the market but he has a sore throat (I'm assuming because DH and I both have awful sore throats), a dry cough and TONS of clear drainage.  He is literally awake every 20-30 minutes at night. I clean out his nose once an hour with the bulb syringe but is there anything else that I can do?
