Miss Avery Jean has arrived!! AW

Avery Jean was born on July 11 at 5:07 pm, weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz and 21" long. I was surprised at how big she was despite being two weeks early!

I was awakened by a sharp pain followed by a large gush in the middle of the night, labored from 3am on, and have slept approximately 6 hours total in the last 36 hours. I any think of a more precious reason to lose sleep!!

Baby girl did have to go to NICU immediately after birth due to respiratory issues. We had hoped to have her in the room today, but the dr has a plan for her and looks like she may spend a few days in NICU instead. NICU is never a good thing, but I am so so thankful that we have a beautiful, healthy little girl, despite needing a little help transitioning into the outside world.

Visiting the NICU these last couple of days also made me think of all the ladies on this board who have or have had babies there. Stay strong mommas, it's tough stuff!

I'd like to think I'm going to get around to writing a more detailed account of the events this week, and when that happens I will share along with some pictures.

Also, congrats to all the new mommies that I've missed. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!!

CONGRATS!!! I was able to post pix from my iPhone using tinypic.com. The only glitchy part is putting the code in before it uploads....zoom all the way out.
