Christmas Gift for in-home daycare?

DS goes to an in-home daycare. I read Stacie's post below, but our situation is different. I am a teacher and have two weeks off for Christmas, my daycare stays open except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day. So I will be paying for my son not to be there while she's still open.

There are two people that mainly care for DS and one that does on occassion. I'm so clueless what to get them. Any ideas?

Re: Christmas Gift for in-home daycare?

  • we are in a bit of a similar scenario-although our daycare is closed the week of christmas-so i have to find a spot for one day!   otherwise i am going to get our daycare provider something special for just her-like wine and a massage gift certificate i think-or day of pampering (think mani/pedi!)   we also bought daycare a game for the kids to play and have something for each child too-only 8 kids so not too hard there.  hope that helps.  last year we gave her gift cards for red lobster and olive garden-date nights or dinners out with her family!

  • Jade, I guess I was not clear.  I am also having to pay for the two weeks that ALL the kids won't be there (she is technically open.)  Ugh.  But we don't have to pay for summer.

Anyway, DH and I decided on a candle set and half a weeks pay.  But we only have one teacher.  HTH

  • Teachers love gift cards- for anything, anywhere. I got them to Target, WalMart, Starbucks, Barnes & Nobles, restaurants from my students. You can put it in a handmade card from your DC with a footprint reindeer or something like that. Much better than lotion or something random like that.
