Trying to Get Pregnant

RE or OBGYN?

This might be a really silly question, but, my OBGYN just referred me to an RE regarding my amenhorrea.  When I, hopefully, get pregnant, is my RE now the Dr that is responsible for all my care during my pregnancy and delivery, or do I go back to my OBGYN?

Me: 27 DH: 32
TTC since 10/2011
Off BCP 10/2011
Cycle 1:110 days-Provera ended
Cycle 2:57 days-natural AF

7/12: Provera+50mg Clomid+Ovidrel+TI+Progesterone=BFN
8/12:50mg Clomid+Ovidrel+TI+Progesterone=???

  • You will go back to the OBGYN once you're pregnant and released from the RE's care. Good luck!

  • My RE is 10 weeks.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I'm going to go with neither and say midwife!

In all seriousness though, I started seeing somebody other than my RE at 11 weeks, but continued to see both until 18 weeks or so. (I can't remember exactly) I think it would depend on the reasons for seeing a RE in the first place. Some REs are also OBs though and will continue care throughout your pregnancy and delivery. (Mine used to do that until a couple of years ago)
