Lila Elise was born on Sunday at 31 weeks, 2 days weighing 3 lbs. 13 oz and 18 inches long. She is doing relatively well thanks to the steroid shots and breathing room air. She will be in the NICU for several weeks for feeding and growth.
Her entry into the world was not the full term, gentle unmedicated vaginal birth I envisioned. I am having a hard time with the fact that my body failed her by keeping her safely in utero until she was ready to be born.
Re: Baby F is here
I know you're frustrated that your body didn't cooperate they way you wanted, but it sounds like the steroid shots really helped out a lot.
Sending lots of T&P's your way that Lila continues to grow stronger each day, and she's home soon.
Congrats mama!

Congratulations on your little girl, Mo! So happy for you. I love her name, very sweet and feminine. I'm glad to hear that she's doing well for her age and size, and send continued thoughts and prayers for her to grow and thrive and come home soon!
Try not to beat yourself up too badly about the circumstances, they were beyond your control just like IF. You did nothing wrong. I know how you feel about not being able to protect them, or not being able to do what seemingly every other woman on earth could (just like they could get pregnant on their own, they give birth to full term plump babies vaginally). There's no use in dwelling on it, your daughter is here and you're a Mommy! Focus on that and enjoy this time, it goes by much too quickly.

Congratulations on your little girl! Lots of T&P for her! Have faith in modern medicine, they can work miracles now a days but it sounds like your little one is doing SO well compared to so many babies already!
You did great mama! Don't think anything less!
I can understand the feelings you are having. I went through the same thing having K & R at 30 weeks because of pre-e. I too wanted an non medicated natural birth and had a c-section. But do know that you did a real good job. The fact that she is doing as well as she is is because of you. It will take a little while so try to be good to yourself. 31 weeks is very good if the health of you and the babies were a concern. My girls are thriving now and I am very happy the medical made the call when they did.So take it one day at a time.
Congratulations on Lila Elise! What a beautiful name I am sure to match a beautiful little girl.
