How did you tell on Facebook?

That is, if you chose to do so? We're coming up on FB announce time after I hear the heartbeat on Thursday. I'd prefer not to make a big announcement, but my mom has already been bouncing off the walls to post something on her page, and I'd prefer my friends not find out because all of my mom's friends are posting their congrats on my page. I'm thinking about changing my picture to a jar of Prego and being done with it...

I haven't decided if we will offically announce on FB or not...if we do, it will be after we find out the gender...I'll probably post a photo of this cute Boston Red Sox outfit I bought last week with a tag line that says something to the point of "I bought this the other weekend but it is waaaay too small for my husband. Look for baby V to make his/her grand arrival in January 2013." But now my H is so mad at the Red Sox for trading Youk that he may not want me to do that...so we'll see!

I like the Prego idea...I hate that word...but it's cute for announcement purposes!

Hubby and I just announced our pregnancy on Facebook over the weekend after hearing the heartbeat on Friday. I said "J and I are super excited to announce that we are pregnant!!! Baby T is coming January 2013!" and he said "Happy to announce that Em and I are expecting a baby! We're due in early January. "

Not announcing until August, but we told both sets of parents with a framed photo of DS running through a field carrying a dozen pink and blue helium balloons. I'll probably post the same photo on Facebook and say "(DS) is so excited to become a big brother this January!" or whatever.

My husband and I live on a farm and we are constantly adding to our furry friends. So our facebook announcement is "Run-A-Muk Ranch is growing again! But not by paws or hoofs, but 10 little fingers and 10 little toes. Our new addition will make a grand entrance in Jan. 2013!"

We haven't announced yet but we will be tomorrow after our ultra sound.

I haven't made it FB official yet, but plan to after our 11 week appointment (and 5th u/s) on Thursday. I'm still working on the wording but here's what I've come up with so far:

After 3 1/2 years of infertility, a pregnancy loss, numerous failed treatments and countless nights of tears wondering if we would ever be parents, we are happy and excited to announce that we are pregnant! Our little snowflake will be joining us in January 2013. (And I will be linking our baby's song--Mine to Love by Dave Barnes--to the announcement.)

We haven't announced on fb yet and won't do so until after 1st tri. However, a friend of mine is taking a picture of us (well, our feet) and a pair of adorable little baby shoes. We'll either write in chalk or add in photoshop, "Baby ___ coming January 2013."

It's not very original, I'm sure you've seen the pictures all over Pinterest. We love it though and wanted the picture for our own benefit, then decided it would be a cute way to announce on fb as well.

we're telling people now, but not making it fb official until we tell everyone in person that we want to tell in person

so after 7/7 (big family party on his side)

i'm actually thinking on 7/11 i will make it fb official...my b-day is 1/11 and i normally countdown to my birthday....but instead i'm going to post a countdown to 1/2...and since i'm posting it on the 11th everyone will automatically assume i'm counting down my bday....

that's about as clever as i can get.....was also thinking of taking a picture of little baby shoes or something....

I've got a t-shirt for DS that says he's going to be a big brother. So we're going to take a picture of him in that shirt and caption it that J has something he wants to let everyone know! We're waiting until after our 12 week appt though. Can't wait for the 6th!

Oh, I also wanted to add that one of the more clever Facebook announcements I've seen recently was from a friend of mine who is a huge Molly Ringwald fan. She posted "I'm pregnant. Can you pass the turnips?" which is a quote from her movie For Keeps

If you don't want your friends to find out by your mom's friends posting on your wall you can always make your wall private so people can't post on it. Personally, most of my friends/family of FB already know so I wouldn't be announcing it to that many more people so I still don't know if I'm going to do it or not.

We told on FB a couple of weeks ago. It was WAY earlier than I had planned, but the secret was leaking out through family members and a few people started saying they had heard. So we just decided to go ahead and put it out there and ask for prayers.

We posted our family pic from Disney World and said, "Our first picture as a family of FOUR was taken at the Magic Kingdom! Baby Last Name will join us in January!"

It's fun that people know. I hate keeping secrets, so I'm glad we told everyone.

We will announce tomorrow after our ultrasound. My first plan is to just have DD hold the ultrasound picture and we'll write something with the post. If that doesn't work, I'm going to write big sister in chalk and have her towards the top with the picture. We'll see how it works out. Getting a picture of her is hard these days!
