Cradle cap + long hair =

nasty oily hair!

I've tried baby oil and mineral oil, but it takes several washes to get it out of his hair, so it ends up looking oily and nasty, and full of flakes.  I was doing good for a while, washing it every other day with a soft brush, but we missed a day, and now it's full fledged cradle cap! If your LO has long hair, what do you use?  We use the Original Sprout baby wash and it just does not cut through the grease.

  • I use olive oil. Leave it on for a little then brush it. Wash with burts bees and it usually gets all the greasy feeling out. Sometimes he smells like a salad tho....LOL. GL

Same problem, no solution as of yet.  And it really ticks me off that the shampoo lathers even though there's still oil on his head.. What a trick!!

  • My baby has cradle cap on her face. The doctor told me to wash it once a day with Cetaphil (the one that says Skin Restoring, for Atopic skin). I am not sure if you can use it on hair but it's worth it to ask.
