2nd Trimester

Anyone with curtains for nursery closet doors??

We just had our nursery furniture room delivered and it's a lot darker than the trim/doors as anticipated. The idea of curtains as closet doors is an option to lessen the contrast a little. Anyone have any pics they care to share so I can see what it would look like??

  • I don't have any pics, but my college roommate used curtains to cover her closet. I always thought that it looked really good, but it wasn't actually curtains because she sewed them herself.

I think it's a good idea in theory, but once your LO is on the move it might prove to be more of a pain than it is worth. Can you brighten up the room with paint or pops of color in accessories instead?

  • would you be adding doors before your LO becomes mobile?  If not.. I see a disaster waiting to happen.

  • Really?? I read somewhere on here that she wanted curtains bc her kid kept pinching his fingers. I don't know. It's not set it stone. I may be ok with the clashing wood colors once the nursery gets painted!! Thanks :-)

  • The door to DD's closet is higher than a normal door handle.  You can also add a latch to keep nosey fingers from turning the door knob.

  • Nice idea, but I would be worried the curtains could pose a strangulation hazard.  Not sure what the recommendations are for toddlers/infants and curtains.

  • We've had curtains as dd2's closet doors since before she was born. It's worked wonderfully. She doesn't mess with them and I like how it looks. And believe me she's an active, into everything 19 month old now.

  • We did Ikea curtain like closet doors in my daughter's room.  I personally don't like bi-fold doors that her fingers can get stuck in.  And no, she's not in to everything.
