Rec. your gym Shoes

So, even though I am currently not going to my gym, I am itching to get back! I was looking at getting a new pair of gym shoes once LO is here and I get cleared for working out. Generally, I do the elliptical, stairs, and treadmill. What are shoes are you rockin' at the gym?

    I would go to a running store and get fitted for shoes. Everyone's feet and gait are different, so they need their shoes to provide them with different amounts of support in order to prevent injury.

    I'd suggest getting fitted as well, but also trying on a few and just seeing how they feel.  I bought my first good pair of running shoes off the rack at a sporting goods store, and they were awesome.  My next pair I got fitted and went with the recommendation that they made, and now am recovering from a knee injury as a result.  I switched back to my "rack" shoe (which is the Asics GT-2170) and things are already getting better.

    I agree with this.  My local running store allows you to try out the shoe on the treadmill and the road before you buy.  I had a great experience.  The salesperson made sure that I had at least 3 pairs of shoes out that I really liked the feel of before I made my final decision.
