1st Trimester

anyone wearing maternity clothes at 9 weeks?

This is my second baby and I didn't quite lose all of the baby weight from my last child (who is 14 months).  I have the gross c-section overhang that seems will never disappear, and with all of this bloating, my jeans don't fit already.  I'm embarrassed to admit I'm already wearing small maternity panel jeans and my bella band over work pants.  I know you show earlier with the second child, but this seems crazy to me.  Please tell me I'm not alone!

Re: anyone wearing maternity clothes at 9 weeks?

  • Well, no... but some of my jeans were starting to get a little tight @ 9 weeks. I just ordered a couple pairs of maternity jeans and will probably be in them by next week just b/c they're more comfy. I swear, the last couple days I've really felt like my belly has "popped". I can't suck my stomach in anymore, which I find rather entertaining.

You're on #2. You're bound to start having these issues earlier than last time, especially if your 1st is only 14 months. Don't feel bad about it.

  • I have a couple coworkers that are on their 2nd and 3rd baby and they were all in maternity clothes by like 9-10 weeks.
  • I think I will need to soon. I never had morning sickness, it was the opposite, I've just wanted to eat, and carbs are my main craving! My jeans may have been a bit tight at the beginning so I'll have to switch to bigger stuff soon!
  • I just posted about this up above as well!  This is my second pregnancy and I also have that c-section pooch.  My friends told me that you will show much faster the 2nd time around.  And I am so bloated that my pants do not fit already.
  • I just purchased my first pair on Friday and am kicking myself for waiting so long (was using the bella band). Even though they are jeans, I feel like I'm wearing pjs (well, at the waist). Ladies, buy the maternity pants, you will feel so much better.
  • I have never been pregnant b4 but I just ordered my first bella band.  I normally wear tight jeans and those tight jeans are a little way to tight for me with the bloat that is going on.

  • I was wearing mat pants almost right away this time... between gaining weight while TTC (feritlity meds)... horrible bloat, my 2nd pg, and being twins- I couldn't fit into anything.

now at 10w i'm in full blown maternity shirts/pants already... and look about 20w pg.

  • THANK GOD I'm NOT alone!!!!!!

I'm pregnant with my first AND second ..... and I JUST bought maternity clothes since most of my clothes DO NOT fit and I just didn't buy a Bella Band ..... Mat. Jeans are kinda comfy!

  • This is making me feel better. I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet, but have definitely been thinkign about it. I wore normal jeans till almost 6 months with DD, so I feel like a fatty now that my jeans are getting tight. I will probably try to hold off till 16 weeks or so.
  • My fat self already bought a pair of maternity jeans!  I'm pregnant with my first, but was overweight to start with.  I don't really have any clothes that have too much "breathing room."  I've had m/s and have even lost a few pounds, but NONE of my pants will button by the end of the day.  Thank GOD for the Motherhood Maternity tummy sleeve!!

  • erm...I started wearing them at 6 weeks because I was more comfortableEmbarrassed I am pg with my third and just whipped the pants out the day after I got my BFP. Who am I kidding? I was *still* wearing some from my second pregnancy, 18 months after her birth(draw-string yoga pants).

  • I wore them on Thanksgiving for the first time. Not even nine weeks here. I have a bella band for my regular pants, which are too uncomfortable now (w/o the band). Maternity pants = comfy heaven. WHY NOT?
  • Coming in late to this, but I don't think it's unusual if you're having baby #2: I've had several friends having their second babies who seemed to show much, much earlier than the first. (Then again, a few weeks ago on this board, there were some 5 and 6 weekers who SWORE that they were already showing with first babies at way earlier than 9 weeks, so maybe you're actually on the late side for a second pregnancy, eh? ;)

  • I am wearing maternity pants and it is my first pregnancy. They are just more comfortable. I am bloated ALL of the time, and my regular jeans are just way too tight and uncomfortable. My big problem right now are shirts, my regular shirts are WAY too tight in the boobs, but maternity look too big. My boobs just bust out of everything it seems. ANy suggestions?
