This is why I've just kept my mouth shut about it. I don't even think my in-laws know that we are going to CD. I really don't want people opinions. I've already made mine, and I'm all good. I had a co-worker tell me the other day that I need to start buying sposies every time I go to the store. I just nodded my head and smiled.

DH mentioned that we're going to CD to MIL and she just looked at me and said (in her most disgusted voice possible): "Oh, you're not going to do that are you?"

No, DH was f*ucking lying just to piss you off.  Seriously? (Coming from the same woman that criticized my wedding dress and said it looked like a nightgown and keeps telling me how old I am this time being PG despite the fact that she was 10 years older than I am now when she had DH).  I just looked at her and said "Yes, we are." to which she mad a face and said "oh" in her nastiest voice.  Whatever MIL.  Just because you were a lazyass that couldn't bother to try BF, drank and smoked while you were PG, and chain smoked around DH until he was about 10 and want to claim you "didn't know it was bad" doesn't make it right.  And it doesn't mean you can criticize me!

Oh, and since MIL quite her job because of "health reasons" (she contracted CMV and I am freaked she's going to give it to me or LO) she calls me constantly during the day until I pick up the phone.  DH tried to nicely tell her that if she leaves a message we will call her back when we're available but she doesn't get it.  Sorry MIL, but when you call me 4 or 5 times during the day it doesn't make me any more likely to pick up the phone.  Yes there's the possibility that maybe I'm home, but that doesn't mean I'm not doing sh!t.

    /end vent

Your MIL sounds horrid.  I'm sorry.

Not that I am a fashionista, but I judge women who go out in their pjs and slippers.  Especially the ones that don't put a bra on. You really couldn't put some clothes on?

I saw a large woman in her PJs with no bra (and a camisole type top) last week at the grocery store (it was around noon mind you).  She had a lot of sag-age going on.  Like the triangles on her top were barely holding the nips in.  They were all folded under the sag and then coming back up barely covering anything.  Not to mention her PJs were basically see-through anyway.  There are just some things you just can't un-see!

We also saw a lady at McD once that was PG and wearing a one-piece jumpsuit thing and one of her nips was totally out.  That was definitely in the same "things you can't un-see catagory"!

Ahh!!!  Both of those are DISGUSTING!!!!!!!

*sigh*  FINE.  *stomps upstairs to change before errands*

    *tucks errant nipple back in*

I didn't understand the point of that post yesterday where someone was complaining about people telling them how hot they're going to be this summer. Seriously? You're so annoyed and offended because people are pointing out the obvious that you need help coming up with witty comebacks? Come on. When people say something like that to me, I usually respond with "I know! This was definitely not well planned. I'm freaking melting!" Complaining about the heat doesn't mean you love your baby less or wish you weren't pregnant. It's just the truth. It's freaking hot and you're going to be kind of miserable. No one is being rude or offensive by pointing that out. Get over it.

I didn't read the post yesterday but I like this.

At my appointment this morning, I was up 11 lbs in 4 weeks. For a whopping total of 35 lbs net gained (27 lbs if you go by pre-pregnancy weight.) And I really just don't care.

OMG I love you right now!!!! You don't care about your weight can I please please grow up and be just like you LOL :)   All I do is worry about my weight uugghh

Rachelilly, I love your attitude! I'm reeeeeallllly tired of all the "ZOMG I've only gained 2 pounds!" posts and honestly love seeing other ladies who are gaining a fair amount of weight be upfront and confident about it.

amen. I am up probably almost 30. GOing to dr in an hour...

I spent one weekend with my family and I somehow gained 6 lbs. I am not sure what happened there.

  • Okay... here's my confession. And please don't hate, because I really honestly do feel bad for all the ladies who don't get much sweet loving during their pregnancy.  But I really do not have this problem.  My hubby is one of those types who LOVES pregnant women... this is actually his favorite category of porn. He tells me all the time how gorgeous I am and he tried to make me "go in late" this morning and I had to pry his hands off me and flee the room.

Also I think there might be something to this whole wives tale about having a boy and testosterone levels making sex appetite increase, because there are plenty times I want it too. I would say we average 2-3x per week at least. And on top of that there has been times I was disappointed because he hit the sack early and I had to cuddle up with a vibrator in the guest bedroom instead. Embarrassed

It comes and goes... I'll go a few days where I don't want to be touched hardly at all, and then I become a total minx. I think I get an up and down roller coaster sex drive way more than I get roller coaster mood swings.

Okay, I know perfectly well this is ridiculous. But I have thoughts like, 'crap... what if my poor baby grows up to be some kind of sex addict from all the in utero orgasms he's had to endure?  O.O

Still, it's funny to have a conversation with him and the best way he can relate is his porn. I ask him, "some girls say they are 'riding low', and I'm really not sure... I think I'm riding high, what do you think?" and he responds with "That's definitely not low. You want to see low? Let me show you this video--" And I'm like "Nonono, I believe you, that's quite all right dear!!"

I am due on October 21st, but I am secretly hoping DS delays his entrance until at least Oct. 25th so that my maternity leave will cover both Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays...

Even though I know my co-worker has already requested the week of Christmas off...

i totally judge my friend who keeps her 3 1/2 year old and 2 year old up until 10pm (and wakes them up at 7), just so they can see Daddy when he comes home from work, before going to bed.  If it was that important to Daddy, he'd come home earlier, or go to work later in the morning, or schedule face time before the kids went to bed. I understand some offices are more demanding than others, but really?  I just feel like as a parent sometimes you have to make sacrifices too....  It's not always about what's best for you!  I judge her even more because she knows the boys need more sleep, but she doesn't want to argue with her husband over it.

I know it's flame free, but I feel like this one is flame WORTHY--

My DH is the general manager of a large retail store and quite frequently his hours have him working until past 9 PM, and going in by 8 AM. 65 hour work weeks are the norm for him.

Perhaps it's important to him (and your friend) that he be able to provide for his family and it's a sacrifice he makes to do that.

My husband would kill to be able to work a normal 9-5, but in his field that's not feasible.  I would NEVER question his dedication to our baby over that.

Besides, if your friends' kids are sleeping even 11-7 that's a full 8 hours, and I'm sure they take naps during the day.

I just read this one. I think it is sweet he wants to see his kids when he gets home. I would be more concerned about a Dad who doesn't care he never gets to see his kids.  Also it is not like he is out partying and then asking for his kids to wait up. He is doing what needs to be done to provide for his family

I bolded more b/c that part got under my skin. You don't think that is a sacrafice the amount of hours he is working to provide for his family? Do you really think he works those long hours b/c he thinks it is what is best for him? A child never seeing their parent is never the better option. If staying up an hour later or so than normal means quality family time I would take it any day of the week. As a wife and a mother I would never deprive my DH or child from seeing eachother.

  • I feel like I ate nothing but high fat-crap yesterday.  My boss took us out to lunch and I had a chicken sandwich that was covered in cheese.  And I got fries added on.  Then for dinner I ate two orders of crab-rangoon and a glass of V-8 (gotta get some veggies in there somewhere)  Then after I went for a walk (which I did to relieve my feelings of guilt for eating like crap the whole day) I ate a big piece of cheesecake.  I just told myself I eat well most days so I'm allowed a day of sh*%$y eating...I'll turn it around this weekend.

My husband and his buddy want me to tell you that pregnant porn stars make a lot more money than normal porn stars.  Instead of $1500-2000 per scene they will make like $4000.

So, there's some motivation for you ladies...? Wahaha.

Now that he's no longer paying attention, I will add, "Kids being proud of mom's wild and crazy youth" is probably less of a motivator.  That and... you know... having some class.

DD was having one of those mornings where she wouldn't eat anything I offered her for breakfast (tried the usuals of blueberries, string cheese, cottage cheese, cheerios, toast, strawberries). It was exhausting. By the time I dropped her off at my SIL's for the day, I was frustrated and hungry so I stopped by Dunkin Donuts for 6 donuts. After 5 I realized I'd had enough. I should note, I've mostly eaten well this pregnancy and haven't gained a ton of weight but today was my breaking point.

    ... 5 donuts. ((head desk))

I feel your pain.  Dealing with DD's food pickiness makes me so frustrated I just want to run outside and scream sometimes.  I feel like it has ruined our dinners -  I won't cater to her pickiness so often she won't eat anything, or we have to mention she can have a popsicle if she tries the food.

I  am so sick of moms who are like "I never had that problem, my kid would eat anything.  Are you just not offering them it enough?"

One thing that does help is I realize sometimes she's just not hungry, and she will eat when she is.  Dinner is her worst meal, but he has her moments with all of them.

  • Since I only gained 2 pounds in the last 4 weeks (mostly because I have been force feeding myself more fruits and veggies than ever and have been taking lots of walks with DS- so you know, doing what I should have been doing before...oops), I celebrated by making peanut butter chocolate chip cookies while he napped.... and ate 4 of them. Crap. Time to get back on track.

I took an Ambien last night (I take one occasionally) and then shopped online for maternity clothes.  Um, I have no clue what I bought.  But I know I spent about $100.  Looking forward to the UPS delivery - it'll be like opening Christmas presents!

Late to this, but, I love you ::gigglesnortpissfartcry::: yup! PLEASE let us know what ends up coming in the box!

    hahah fantastic!

I had a few text sessions after taking ambien a while back and was like what the...

also apparently I decided to eat then too!

Yeah, this was one of the reasons I really try to stay away from it nowadays. The worst part of it is, I was never fully aware of what I was doing OR remember doing it all the next day. Terrible combination.

Ambien is definitely crazy if you take it and are up walking around still.  I usually take it and then am in bed watching tv or something (or on the computer like last night).

I wish I could blame my fatness on Ambien-induced-sleep-eating but unfortunately I can't.  I've never woken up to the kitchen a mess or the stove being left on and wondering WTH happened.

I will be honest gained 17 pounds and the only reason I am worried is because I was about 15 over weight when I became pregnant. When I saw Rachelily's post about not caring I was like OMG see I need to just not give a sh*t too!! The one's that complain about gaining 4lbs, 10lbs I want to strangle.

Just wondering, but, you do realize how many women on this board were probably much more than "15 pounds overweight"? I'm sure your baby and you will be fine.  Just sayin...

  • I was just walking down the hall at work and completely unexpectedly peed my pants a little. Not like enough to need to stop and buy clothes to change into before I get home, but enough that I wish I had on a panty liner. OMG. I've heard about this happening, but it's taken until my third baby to experience it myself.

For the longest time I was convinced that somebody hit my car in a parking lot and didn't leave a note...until DH (we had just started dating at the time) noticed a nice scrape on the pole next to my parking space at my old apartments, about the same height as my front bumper. Finally it dawned on me that I had driven myself to get food after taking Ambien (a HUGE no-no) and hit the pole when I came back. I didn't take it again for 2 years. Please don't judge me Embarrassed

Oh man, I think this is one of the best Ambien stories I've ever heard!
