Swim diaper alternative?

So is there something I can use instead of a regular swim diaper? LO may go in the pool this weekend, and I don't have a swim diaper yet...he's still in newborn sized diapers. I have grovia aios that I originally loved but not so much now- can I use one of those?

AIO will be really, really heavy. Use a pocket without an insert.

I don't have a pocket and they wouldn't fit anyway as he's still in newborn sizes. I'm not expecting he'll be in the water all that long.

Is it a public pool or a private pool? If it's a friend's pool or something, I would just take him in nude.
